DENON Owners thread

Hi, I just connected a Denon 1713 to sonodyne 2605 floorstanders and I have to really crank the volume above 60-65 to enjoy. Also the bass performance is a little below expectation. I am not using a subwoofer by the way. Already used the audyssey settings. So is there anything else I can do manually to increase the performance? I am a newbie so please help.

Agree with you. I have a similar setup, except the AVR is X2000. The volume from 2605 is too low even at 65-70 and I have to increase the source level to about +7. For SD channels, I usually swith to MCH STEREO. But this is only in Stereo. The sound is excellent at 45-50 for surround when playing from laptop or even with Movies Now/Star Movies HD.

I have a SiA310 which I was using before the AVR. I tried connecting it to the 2605 and the sound is just amazing. I have actually listened to the speakers at Elango's place and I have to say SiA310 with 2605 sounds even better. I have always wondered about people saying BASS is ample without the need for a SW and now I know. BASS and TREBLE level in the amp is set at 8 with volume at about 40 and its awesome. Much better setup for stereo music than the AVR.

Now I have 2605 connected ot both the AVR and the SiA310 :) Weird setup ha!! I have been careful enough to make sure to switch on the AVR or hte Amp at a time.. Wonder what happens if I have both on by mistake!

Well I don't have a sia amp. For stereo listening its ok, but for movies and TV it is definitely underpowered, i think. Is there anything I could try.

I am trying to get network working on my Denon X-1000. I bought a TP Link Wifi to LAN bridge device.
It works fine when I check it on my laptop - I can surf the net etc
But when I connect it to the Denon X-1000, it doesnt seem to recognize that it is connected to a network.
In setup, when I choose Network, IP Control and Settings option are greyed out
And in Information, IP Address is coming blank

Anyone here successful in getting Network functionality going in X-1000 using LAN cable ?

Hi, I'm having Denon 1912 coupled with KEF speakers. i'm using DVD player and Xtreamer multi media player to play music getting output through music fidelity DAC. Everything is fine since last two years but started facing problem in audio output when passed through DAC. Can somebody support me on the issue? My audio set is like:

1a. Audio output from xtreamer player is given to DAC through coaxial cable.
1b. Alternatively output from xtreamer is also given to directly AVR through HDMI cable

2. Output from DAC is carried through coaxial cables (L&R) and plugged in at Denon audio input at BD.

Now the problem I'm facing is:

In Input Assign when I keep the input at HDMI, my DAC is bypassed and the sound from speakers came via HDMI cable and that is perfectly normal.

But when HDMI is set to None in input assign (BD) and digital input is set to Coaxial the out put of xtreamer directed though DAC, output of which is from coaxial cables which are attached to AVR. In this case my one speaker goes silent and output comes from one speaker only.
Similar is the case when I use CD player.
On resetting the processor sound is ok from both speakers for some time but suddenly it switched to single speaker.
I'm totally baffled in the way my system is behaving. Can forum guide me through for a solution before I connect to dealer for repair?

Thanks

Mine is a denon X3000 and i have absolutely no problem in LAN connect. i have hardwired it to my belkin router. recently i changed both my service provider and my modem/router- it auto connects to the network.
Just check in your router admin page if denon shows up.

I have a huge collection of audio on my pc drive arranged in different folders accordingly. Is there any way I can use it on my network supported denon 1713 as folder view instead of creating a Playlist on windows media player.

I can view this on denon x3000 (network/media server/)

What have you done from windows side to get this? Can all your audio folders can be viewed on denon media server or just the Playlist which you create in windows media player.
For me in media server I can see only one folder ie. Shared music which is usually in my documents and contains just few default windows songs. I want to add all my audio folders which is on different drive without copying it to shared music folder.

Denon x1000 will work with Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 Home Theatre Speaker System?

i got offer second hand denon x1000 and planning to use with Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 Home Theatre Speaker System.

Thanks.
Got the x1100 for 44k, upgraded to get Audessey and a little more power. Sold the x500 to a friend. Overall I am happy with the upgrade, x1100 is a very good AVR indeed.

Good to know. Just a thought. Denon avr 2000 would have given more power in same price range though a old model it too has good feature. Why it was not considered

I also thought about x2000 but settled with x1100w. With more output x2000 consumes more power too, and I have no use of the upscaling features as all my content is HD, x2000 was a very good option but its not available with any of my dealers, only online. x1100w has inbuilt Wifi and Bluetooth + it is 4 Ohm compatible, HDMI 2.0, enough power to drive my Andrew Jones. Online x2000 is selling at 48K, I got the x1100w for 41K.
