Hi Poppy ,as far as info on web it is not.. also for running these codecs i think minimum 9 channel set up is required (with or without external 2 channel amp)..I dont think x2100 will do that.
Auro is giving 9.1 & 10.1 channels (upper VOG channel only for x5200w & x7200w-VOG is not required for small rooms)

Any info on DTS UHD decoder availability on receivers ,its release date info.. will there be any free/paid firmware upgrades on receivers which is already capable of handling Atmos..:)
The consumer version of DTS-MDA (apparently UHD was a temporary name) will be available next year.

Denon has switched to a cycle of new models each year, except for the flagship model (7200) which will be on a 2 year cycle. Because of that, rumor has it only the flagship model will be upgradable to DTS object-based audio. Which means the lower models will be replace with ones that have the new DTS codec. Again, that's the rumor, unconfirmed by Denon.

IF it gets added to next year's models, it will be included in the price (Denon already licenses various DTS technologies). By comparison, Auro3D will continue to be a paid option, since Denon doesn't want customers paying for something they might never use AND is expensive to license.

Only falgship moels means i think it will be difficult for everyone to invest in such kind of AVR's ..I feel denon should give option for atleast 3 or 2 down models wrt to their Flagship category......

They do: the 7200 is the flagship; the 5200 and 4100 are down models with Atmos. Buying the down models means giving up certain things the flagship gets, like the DTS-UHD upgrade.

I dont feel there is much difference between x7200 & x 5200,only a upgraded amp powerful than x5200..

my expectation is denon should give DTS UHD option atleast in two AVR as they the did in the case of Atmos.

Bringing DTS UHD to lesser models will need more discrete channels of amplification & will increase the cost & defeat the purpose...

Sure it will come down to lower models, but it will take 2 yrs atleast....

For people using Denon avrx 2000 do you feel anything features you are missing that you wished it had been there? At any point of time you thought about upgrading?

Not yet an owner of Denon but the upgrade bug has bitten me again and I cannot ignore it. I currently own an Onkyo TX-SR508 and would like to upgrade to a Denon (the newer models look too good).

As my receiver is an older generation one, it's high time that I change it. I was lured to upgrade because of the inbuilt features like Bluetooth, wifi, and many others.

I even read at many places that Denon receivers are warmer compared to Onkyo which are bright in sound. I even read online that the Polks are a good match with Denons. And moreover Onkyo have discontinued Audessey in the newer models as they have brought out their own measuring software.

I would like to have your opinions on the newer models from Denon like the x2100w and the x3100w. Both are priced at 67000 and 110000 respectively.

Your valuable opinions and comments will help me decide on my purchase. As I am upgrading after almost 7 years, I would like to be future proof this time so another 10 years there is no question of an upgrade.

If you like Onkyo with Audyssey and can overlook Atmos, then you can consider older models Onkyo which have Audyssey (Onkyo 929/ 1010) but depending on your budget....

Well I wanted to upgrade to a Denon receiver as I liked the sound which I have been listening at my relatives place.

What's your take on the Denons? My budget would be near a lac. Atmos is not a must and I cannot accommodate it due to space restrictions.

What were the Denon's paired with ?

When you are spending close to a Lac rupees, then it should really should be a stand-out performance... I would suggest you to consider Denon X4000 over X2100 (or) X 3100...

Since it is an year old model, you should get a good discounted price....Alternatively you may consider the above said Onkyo models & Marantz SR 7008....

All the suggested models have Audyssey Multi EQ XT32 which is one of the best Digital room correction aval in the market....
