Fans of Television Series

OK yes I gave it a try ... but with a slow internet connection (2mbps) its a pain actually, most of the videos would not load, even if I reach to the sources, it buffers a lot, even the SD videos. Netflix or youtube or hulu buffers and plays fine on this connection.

Yes with 2mbps it is slow.
You could try one thing , when you reach the final source , Right Click and Save As.

For most movies it has this option where you can download and watch later buffering free. TV series not so sure.

Currently hooked up with American Horror Story, finished up with season 2 and about to start season 3.
The good thing I liked about this TV show is that its a different kind of horror show and each season is a different story altogether. I would call this show as "Twisted Horror Show", in my words.

Each character has played well in their respective roles and they are sure to entertain. I recommend this TV show to all who likes a bit of twist of horror, fantasy, sex and story of course.

Re: The Americans!

My favourite 'The Americans' is back. Looks like season 3 might be more about af-pak region, as with the recent season of Homeland.

Switched at Birth (TV Series 2011 ) - IMDb - Done with 3 seasons, starting season 4 now.

At the outset the premise seems limited, 2 babies switched at birth and growing up with different families for 16 years find out the truth and come into contact with their real parents, and all of this takes place in the first episode... so you might wonder what next? What else is there to say... and that's were Switched At Birth excels.

Without going into too much story detail, let me say it keeps you entertained every single episode and without being too melodramatic or even preachy. That in and of itself is amazing for a serial without action, violence, sex or the introduction of new characters or a new story arc for each episode, as is typical for most serials. Its the same 7 major characters and their story told in an entertaining manner that keeps you hooked.

Highly recommended, do prepare to be hooked to the extent you will drop your other serials till you are done with it.

Glad You finally went for Switched at Birth ....... its one of my top rated TV series .....

...hehe yea, the affection and hate for the characters keeps dipping up and down .... Daphnie at heart is a good girl she will come around ... :)

Banshee (TV Series 2013 ) - IMDb - Heads up on Banshee, season 3 is here.

Just finished the 4th episode and already the season has moved into the 5th gear with 2 major fights, 1 death, 1 revelation, 1 meltdown... and lots more. A ton of fun, do check it out, its got pretty much everything from an entertainment perspective.

(mild spoilers ahead)

Is anyone watching The Big Bang Theory, post mid season break? There seems to be a huge drop in quality and storyline post contract negotiations with the Top 3 stars (Kaley, Jim & Johnny). Looks as if the producers aren't getting their money's worth. It has become immensely drab and everything drags on.
Disappointed. I used to love this show. The new post mid season is just disappointing.

Suits: The new episode seemed good. I thought for once Louis will have some cahones against the named partners but he was cut to size by the end. Need some good lawyering episodes to get this back on track. That Mike Ross is fraud has been hammered quite a lot now.

The Blacklist: Good new episode! A good one after a long time. Spader is rocking in this one and finally some insight into why she is imp to him. Looking forward to the next episode.

The 100: The more I watch this the more I feel it is going the Lost way. Grounders=(fake)Others (tail section ppl), Mountain Men=The actual others. Hope it doesn't go haywire. City of lights holds promise.

The Mentalist: The show cruises on with Jane's typical flair. Though I wonder what's the long arc. Is that Red John list, which was a puzzle, still lurking somewhere behind?

Castle: A nice fun tp series. Again lacks a long arc without which the story at times seems a bid jaded. The new twist brings some difference to the routine. Waiting for something exciting to happen.

Hi All,

THanks for this great thread which I chanced upon last week. Started on english/ foreign serials around end of Nov-2013 when I had to see dexter s01e01 again by chance. Completed all 8 seasons by Jan-2014 at breakneck speed and no looking back :).

I got to know about Banshee and NewsRoom from this thread. BIG THANKS.

Banshee is as awesome as you can get. Again completed seaon 1 and 2 within a week and now waiting for s03e05. Typical masala fare with a cock and bull story but surely entertainment big time....

I would recommend these two great detective mini- series - British
1. Happy Valley - Happy Valley (TV Mini-Series 2014) - IMDb
2. BroadChurch - Broadchurch (TV Series 2013 ) - IMDb

Ok now you are doomed. You can never ever go back to watching Hindi or regional serials... never ever. God help you if you ever have to sit through them with your spouse... just kidding.

Do check out Breaking Bad, its the closest thing to perfection ever (well at least till now). You will never be the same again after you have experienced Walter White and his many different shades.

I am posting here after a while, off late my dedication toward TV series has waned somewhat due to time constraints and work pressure. Even then I have been able to catch up on Homeland season 4.
Quite disappointed, I think many are as well.

I do not know but the writing has taken a dive for the worse, the same can be said about the Production values. While the series still has its charm and retains some thrilling sequences and still keeps you anticipating what is going to hatch in the next episode, it severely lacks the gripping emotional and thrilling story line of the Brody days. It is fair to say the audience is not as involved anymore and is not able to relate to the happenings on the screen. Perhaps it is a little far-fetched to imagine the average audience would relate to CIA plots - assassinations - international espionage and covert operations, but audience did feel for Brody and the characters at play. The new season attempts this through the Ayan kid and personal tribulations of Carrie. Unfortunately they take Carrie's personal life too far, for me it is definitely tiresome to watch. No spoilers in this post but certain events with Carrie are definitely 'below the belt' hitting.

And lets not even start on the corny / scripted dialogues in Urdu / Pushtu or other Af-Pak tribal languages. It is almost beyond belief that the series almost completely based on Pakistan now could go forward with such little research and more importantly effort.
