I just saw this...well, pm me the additional cost. No need to rework. Also is it more risky shipping it now?? One of the reasons I opted for (b) other than the cost was that a fully assembled one wold be risky to ship ---- there are enough clowns in the shipping industry.:lol:

On another note...these things happen to us common folk whenever we get a carpenter to do things for us...have lot of experience with them...nice to know that we have good company

Hi all
the increment in the charges for araldite and screw assembly is as follows
Rs 2250 per rack

this is to be paid to the GATI courier agent when he delivers

The excess shipping charges ( for shipping the entire assembled rack as opposed to the knock down version ) have already been borne by me and paid to the courier


Hence Now the balance amount payable to my account directly ( 11250 - 4000)

Thanks Ali, got the rack. Awesome packing. The rack is solid, now to match the color with my other furniture and place the equipment on it...maybe I need to upgrade...:lol:

the rack legs have been cut on an NC machine so they are perfectly level

so if the rack " rocks" on your floor
it means your floor is uneven
Just put some stiff paper packing under the one foot that is rocking and you will be set to go

i have checked all racks
there is ZERO sway
the assembly has been done well with araldite and multiple fastners

they are set to hold an elephant

The polish guy needs to sand the thing down and maybe add some wax in a couple places to fill up inaccuracies in the natural wood
then the polish
finally the melamine

please tell him to use WAX only
and that too only in places reqd
Not to go overboard with lambi work

Some polishers use a shortcut by adding lambi everywhere to smoothen things out so they dont have to do the tediuous sanding and double sanding
But adding lambi just ends up covering up the natural grain of the wood and spoiling the entire beauty

Please beware of these shortcut polishwalas

I wasnt too well, so didnt follow the thread. The stand just came in and was very well packed. I wasnt able to resist opening it up right away, it's sturdy and well made. Thanks for the polishing instructions.

this message has happened twice to me
it doesnt mean damage or pilferage
it normally means it is held up in some warehouse due to insufficient documentation ( which is their own internal issue)

it is a ploy GATI uses whenever it is unable to deliver by my stipulated time frame
i give them only 4 days

then they give me some stupid excuse that it wasnt fdeliveed on time due to some document problem
and im like WHAT the ****

if you wanna have some fun you can take delivery and refuse to pay them
saying it wasnt delivered in their own stiputlated time
the time frame is one the right top corner of the docket they hand to you
Since im very strict about that

you dont deliver in time
i wont pay
