Is E6 the best LED that Panasonic has ever produced?

I got it for 57k, 1month back. Negotiate more. Again I would agree with dirac and hitch hawk . I think dirac asked to go ahead as the tv is very good and in very short supply, but hitchhawk is asking to wait for new models to be launched in may june times. But again I don't think pana has a 42 inch in the line up for 2014 rather 39 inch. Try sony 700 B (2014 model with 200 hz) if u want some thing similar. When I went to buy panny the sony PQ I found a tad un natural to E6, due to over coloring on Sony. But for motion viewing ( football, sports, action movies) and games Sony will be better. Caution: Sony 700B comes 60 k+ .

i feel that you can wait for 2014 models to come from panasonic.....2014 models seem to very promising....42as600(sucessor to e6) and 40as640(3D) both have VA panels and have very good contrast and deep black levels.....here check out these links

After calling number of panasonic distributors, finally i got the last offer as 58K (800 Rs extra if I pay through credit card). I really want to decide in a period of 1-2 weeks as I already delayed the idea of buying LED quite enough.
Moreover, it is not sure when Pana will launch their new range??

Panasonic has updated their Indian Website with the latest offerings. Surprising there is a surge in IPS backed models this time:sad:.
The models mention by Zouresh also do no figure in the latest website update.

Both new 42 inches have RCA audio out compared to digital audio out for E6D.
New model 42A410D have IPS panels and both have lesser HDMI ports( 2 HDMI)

Anyone found any other major differences ?

Finally I bought E6 yesterday at 56.5K from Croma store :yahoo:. Also got the extended warranty for 2 years by paying additional 2800. Thanks to the people in this forum who guided me in buying this beauty

Can anybody let me know how is the performance w.r.t external hard disk connectivity. I have a 2TB seagate hard disk. Will this be easily detected by the TV. Have heard some TVs have issues in detecting high sized disks.. Is that the case with panny as well??

@ navmen, not sure of 2 TB. I have a 1 TB EXHDD and it was recognized by the E6 . No folder wise view , only the Video, pic and music segregation. Note that if lot of data, Tv takes time to read all, not too much though

Colour are a bit warm on the IPS but blacks suffer. On my TV though I don't see any degradation of black :licklips: for some reason. VA panels I found to be too sharp but blacks are better on them.

Panasonic L32E6D has IPS panel. It is Full HD as per Panasonic website. Sony W700B has VA Panel. VA Panel has better contrast ratio & black levels compared to IPS Panels. VA is better in case of television.

I would suggest you to go to a showroom & compare W700B & E6D side by side and choose the one you think has the better picture quality.

I have a 1TB WD Essential exHDD in NTFS. But it is not read by the TV. It keeps on reading it. The showroom guy connected a 2TB WD Passport exHDD and it read fine. Do I need to format it to FAT32?

Please advice.

That model is good vfm. Format hdd, you'll find out.

Yeah, will do. My 1TB HDD is almost full with movies, I don't have enough free space right now anywhere else to dump them and format the HDD.

If you have connected to the Audio Out ports, then you cannot mute TV speakers. I bring down the TV volume to 0, and keep my external speakers running.

Yesterday , happened to see the Samsung series 8 led at my colleague's place who bought it for 1.66 lakh a 55 inches.
With lots of hopes I carried my old Sony bdp along with some reference bds.
It was absolutely disappointing.
Tried movie and standard modes. I should say disgusting. None looked natural. The movie mode was grainy. Colors were unnatural. I tweaked the backlight and contrast. Could get rid of grain. But the picture is no where as natural as the et 60 that I have seen earlier or for that matter the legendary Sony hx850.
Guys, stick to Panasonic leds for natural colors and believable picture.
