Vinay announced donations with certain pre-conditions. IT WAS GENEROUS MOVE. His precondition of getting equal share from other parties was slightly different but he might be thinking that he did not want to create a free party on his behalf .
Great think was he took the imitative, and announced it ,AND THE DAY , THE EVENT HE WAS NOT ATTENDING. ,In fact original date of Dec 18 th was suitable for him , but he did not even push for his request. THIS THING CERTAINLY SHOULD BE CONSIDERED.
VINAY DOES NOT NEED TO PROVE HIS GRACIOUSNESS. IT IS ALREADY PROVED. In the past he sold his premium DVD player and donated the amount to HFV . He donated his collection of 200 DVD to HFV members now that time he had conditions ,but it added the excitement..
Now I was handling Vinays donation issue ,certain communication happened and all of sudden posting started coming openly about his payment and why he has not done.I think these things needs to be handled discreetly ,via PM route. Because of this open posts I lost face and frankly cannot communicate with Vinay further.
By the way the original costing was NEVER done considering donations. In fact certain buffer is kept for some incidental expenses , some guests ,stationary cost etc. IT IS AN EXPENSIVE HOBBY , people spend thousands of euros on cables ,and maybe some members are spending more on petrol than admission charges . So payment is really a non issue. OUR ORIGANL IDEA WAS TOO NEVER HAVE A FREE EVENT INSPITE OF ALL DONATIONS ,BUT CHARGE SOME MINIMUM AMOUNT , as free event looses its quality attendees.
BTW as a member of organizers I was given tasks of collecting donations ,which was not happen.MY BAD. But no one in the committee (which includes me) was aware that a followup and audit body is formed . Instead of follow-up of events not happening if anyone does something in getting the funding or support or help it will be greatly appreciated.
VINAY I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THIS WILL NOT AFFECT THE PERSONAL RAPPORT BETWEEN US.We still want you for the meet ,that is prime criteria.
