If i dont get my Vintage Sony Amp then how i am going to demo my DIY TL speakers? Can i borrow some one else hi-end amplifier to demo it?

Is any body else getting a Transmission Line speaker? I would like to compare my TL speakers with other TL speakers (Yes i will like an Apples to Apples comparision). The idea is to demonstrate the Transmission Line Technology whee i believe most of the members would not have heard as commercial availability of this technology is very less.

Hari, plenty of other gears for demo. We shall have other amps to pair your speakers with, Also gives you an opportunity to find out how your speakers fare with other amps. Isn't that great???

Yes Sir,

You will get a chance;

My Resurrection is a TL - 2 way with ATD Woofer & Alain Bernard BEE Ribbon - however that will not be there;
In its place - PMC from UK will be there & that is a TL.
SO that chance will exist.

I also suggest that you get your amp - if the organizers are OK with it, cause your TL was 'voiced' on that amp & it is the right way to listen to it - just my 2 tit bits.
I apologise, if I crossed the line here - in my comments - but the organizers will have the final word;

We are here to expose ourselves to audio
Many may hear something they normally never would

For example budget buyers go into an audio room
Select their budget say 30 k
they listen to speaker only close to their budgets and walk out
Typical Mentality
This in my opinion is not correct
(A frog always thinks his well is the best unless he goes out and explores)

Rarely does that budget buyer ask to listen to a 5 lac rs speaker
I ask WHY?
why do people do this?

By doing this you jave lost a chance to know what a good music should sound like ( its fine if you cant afford it - AT least you have learnt something- you have opened your mind)
if you dont know whats possible you will never grow!

The only reason why one member is coming here is to expose us
His learning curve will probably be close to 0

Our aim for this meet is to know the capabilities of a good system
what we are missing
what we should aspire for

We are not here as judges or reviewers you have to mark and give points to speakers
This is NOT music - its mockery

sorry if i sound harsh( please note: this is not directed at ANYONE - its just a general feeling that i have and learnt about from good friends)
i just needed to het this off my chest

so what if other systems sound crap after the first auditions
well the truth is THEY are crap so they sounded crap

At least in this way we know what were missing

My humble advice and request to all
When you walk into a demo room please hear the best ( even if you cant afford it)
at least youve exposed yourself
Your learning curve starts here
Dont walk out just hearing your budgetted stuff

Please lets not get too many cooks to spoil the broth! We as organisers have planned something & we shall like to stick to it. Having too much democracy is also not good - prime example is the state of our country due to this very fact. We respect your point of view, but kindly respect ours as well.

Let us enjoy the meet, listen to various gears available, provide feedback on the same by means of filling the mapping sheets & generally enjoy each others company

If you do not want to do any of the above, its entirely your choice & we will respect your decision. As for your gear, again IF its too much of a hassle to get it, we would rather not bother you taking too much trouble & you may come sans these. Not a problem. Maybe you got the wrong impression that we were forcing you to get them, its definitely not the case, your company will be MORE important rather than anything else.

Whoever is still contemplating on attending the meet, PLEASE confirm your presence to Santy, Hemant or Myself or do so on this thread itself latest by 2 PM today, as we want to accommodate as many as we can, space permitting ! Let us have a good meet with focus on Quality

We will have a list of attendees @ the entrance of the hall & will cross check accordingly & collect payments from people paying at the venue. We might get a sudden response from people coming @ the last minute who we might have to politely turn back as space will be a constraint. Expecting this to happen as our meet has been covered in today's local editions of the Times of India

Ali bhai,

The idea was to have placement for speakers and equipment THROUGHOUT THE MEET. As it enhance the sonics and looks good too.

When we asked you the idea was you make those stands , some are even compared with international products and no. of members like it. So we will offer certain display to your products and we will get to see and review the stands and it can be used as in meet display. We thought it is symbiotic and synergic relationship, mutually beneficial.

But now we are realizing that you may not be there from the beginning ,so sonic experience is not throughout the same. You are not getting any advertising mileage, nor you want it ( as per your post) On the top it is too much trouble for you pack ,assemble disassemble ..add to that trouble you are taking for coming from SOBO.

We thank you for the trouble you have taken already and request that you may or may not bring the stands as it will save your trouble and stands are not fulfilling purpose of both the sides.

Rack can be cancelled if stands are there we will check their effect on good speakers

Thanks very much for your courtesy. I am already exited with the thought of comparing my DIY TL with a professional TL like PMC.

Mine is a 2-way TL build 3 years ago, using a Peerless 6.5" Kevelar cone woofer with a Peerless 1" Alunimum Dome Tweeter (Low Resonating frequency type). I have used a first order (-6dB/Octave - Butterworth alignment) cross-over and it is a straight line Mass loaded TL tuned at 35Hz. I have used triangular wave-guides for the line. The enclosure is Time aligned and diffraction corrected.

Hope it will able to perfom well against the PMC.
