LG 47LA6910 LED Cinema 3D Smart HDTV Owners Thread /Reviews/Discussions!!!

yes but good HTS is expensive and Im not aware of a HTS without speakers in the market .So Im looking for either a not so expensive HTS ( minus speakers ) - OR - any other low cost option for example like a optical to analog conveter .

Then why are you saying HTS. Just say that you need an AV Receiver. Most of them come with HDMI and S/PDIF. You can get an inexpensive one from Onkyo or Pioneer.

What speakers do you have ?

Dont laugh mate :) ..I have a F&D with built-in amp & 5.1 out . It satisfies my need at the moment . I'll think of bigger things later ;) .I might consider buying a Bluray some time soon though .
So I'm looking for something simple ,to just manage sound and proper 5.1 output using the TV as the hub . If i were to put it as a flow just to clarify my thoughts

No . It has only analog inputs . Does the 6910 output 5.1 audio thru the composite RCA output ? I have connected headphone output to amplifier .But that is only 2 channel

Hi Everybody

I am pleased to join the club of proud owners of LG 47" Cinema 3D TV. I have a couple of things to share here.

1. Earlier, I had a Sansui 42" LCD TV. The picture quality was exceedingly brilliant. However, I am not getting the matching quality in my new LG 47LA6910. Perhaps, if I understand the combination of Brightness + Contrast + Sharpness + Colour setting (in STANDARD (User) mode), I may set it right. Anyone can suggest the proper combination for this setting??

2. I understand that the functioning of the TV is through Software. Since we can use Internet in this TV, I suddenly started thinking whether we need to download any 'Anti-Virus' software to protect the TV from sudden Virus attacks through Internet. Any suggestion in this regard? Is this TV vulnerable to Virus attack through Internet or other device sharing?

Reply for the 2nd issue here will help many owners like me.

By the way, I can not complete this post without mentioning the awesome visual treat while watching 3D in this TV. Hats off to LG

The 'Cinema' mode is excellent for watching movies (especially English movies) in LG 47" Cinema 3D Smart TV. In my attempts to set the settings to suit my desired level (actually in 'Standard (user)' mode) inadvertently I made some changes in 'Cinema' mode. This resulted in some changes in picture viewing standard.

Can any of you LG 47A6910 LED Cinema 3D Smart TV users, publish the 'Default' (i.e., Cinema mode without the word 'user' within bracket followed) setting [Backlight, Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Colour etc.) to enable me to reset the settings?

Is there a way to share the hdd connected to the tv in network? Earlier i was using himedia network player and I was copying the media files to the hdd connected to the player from the laptop. Now I bought this TV(not exactly this, but 47la690v) and no need of himedia as tv plays all the formats. But I'm missing network sharing feature from himedia :( and removing and connecting the hdd to laptop. After completing copy, again connecting it to the TV.

Is there way to transfer files to hdd connected to the TV?

I have connected my Philips Home Theatre system to my new LG 47LA6910 (HDMI 1). While playing videos either from 3d WORLD or from shared devices or through Internet / Youtube right in the TV, the audio output is restricted to TV Speakers only and I am not getting the audio in my HT's speakers. Every time, I have change the Audio setting for this. However, when I am watching a TV Channel using Tata Sky (connected in TV as HDMI 2), the sound output is coming through HT speakers.

Is there any modality to get the audio output of Wifi-run Videos in the Home Theatre?

Hope someone of you would make a fast reply.

I got in touch with LG in this regard (I am using Tata Sky HD Set top box). I reliably understand that the recording is possible only if the TV is connected through RF or AV. Try it and let us all know whether it works (I have not tried as HD will not function in AV - since this is meant for Cable TV Connection)

@kavignarvaidha and juwel

Hey buddy practically its not possible to record thru HDMI signal.. Live TV recording happens only thru regular Cable TV input via inbuilt TV Tuner card.

All DTH providers who provide recording facility has inbuilt TV tuner card installed in setup box.. you may have heard about Record one channel while watching other, it has 2 TV tuners installed in it.

Hope this helps..

Yes, its not possible to record anything through hdmi cable.
And tv has its own tuner card and that functions when tv is connected directly through antenna or cable. That means we cannot use time machine feature if we are connected through set top box.

Hi Guys

I am now a proud owner of 47LA6910 and the tv rocks in terms of HD picture quality.
Earlier I had a Panasonic 42 Vierra Plasma and even that tv rocked in terms of picture quality. I was in serious doubt whether to make such a huge investment for this tv..but it seems it was a gamble well played.

Initially I was not not quiet happy with the images getting blurred but then I changed the true motion to user with de-blur on 10 and de-jugger on 0 and then it seems it working fine..

I have not yet tried the 2d-3d conversion and hence would like to know the best settings for 2d-3d conversion.

Thanks

While watching a normal TV Channel, go to 3D Settings. Change the option to "Manual" from the default "Auto". Then change value of "Depth" and "View Point" to suit your desire / taste. You get great effect even while viewing a normal JPG image in such a setting. Enjoy :)
