LG 47LA6910 LED Cinema 3D Smart HDTV Owners Thread /Reviews/Discussions!!!

Some 1080 p movie prints are dull themselves, they are just artificially enhanced to give 1080 p resolution.such movies will play dull and will not give full movie experience. To increase contrast in LG TV you should set energy saving mode to minmum or at off position. Goto setting --picture-energy saving----off,screen will become bright.Try fiddling with other setting as well such as dynamic contrast---max,super resolution ---max etc to get full brightness and contrast on the screen.

Thanks for the reply. As per picture quality of the movies i downloaded, its perfect when i play it on laptop or other old 32inch led tv. I never changed energy saving mode and even after setting picture mode to vivid, its just the same. Colors and brightness are visible but while watching the movie, its like i'm watching a serial as i mentioned before. Movies on hd stb seems to be fine. Only problem i face is when i play it via usb. I will try to download other movies and check once again.

One more thing, i use videocon d2h stb, while hd channels are appearing in full screen, normal channels are not appearing. Even in picture settings, full mode isn't showing on tv. I use manual zoom to fill the screen but its edges are cut off. Is it common in all stb's?

Could be the USB bandwidth limitation, just a thought.

Try playing some good quality blueray movie, not ripped one ,but of full size may be upto 20-50 gb.Then see the difference.I use the same TV with local cable STB, i can increase the size of sd channel by going to PIcture - Aspect ratio-- 16:9 or full.I donot know about videocon d2h.

I can select 16:9 but full mode isn't clickable at all. That option is available only when i play movies through USB. Watching videos with top and bottom part being black spaces kills me as the picture looks too wide  Well, those ripped one's played very well on my old 32inch samsung led tv. So can't complain about movie prints. Will surely download other prints and check once again. Anyways, may i ask what are your default settings for optimal movie experience  For me, standard settings with color and sharpness increasing to 10plus does the job. And setting gamma to low gives me sharp black images.

What I meant is the bandwidth of USB port, just a thought that it may not be fast enough to read it or it cannot keep up with required speed.

I tried with other pendrive too, but still the clarity remains same. If you don't mind, will you download any movie of yify torrent and check whether its playing fine for you?

I too have similar issues in my LG 42 inch TV. When I play movies through my USB, the movie does not play in full screen, even though the settings options says, it's in full screen.. not sure how to fix this...

That problem is common on most of the TV's. I think in some sony TV's, there is an option called fit to screen. That would fit exactly to screen without losing picture. I guess there is nothing we could do other than download the exact size 1920x1080

I face no problem in watching 720 p movies in full screen on same TV.Going to setting-- picture size ----full/original i can easily change to full screen/ small screen, while playing movies via USB.Check the TV software version and if any update are available apply them.May be software update fix the problem.

The firmware is up to date only. But not sure why this is the case. The option of original / full size is available, but this is not helping. May be stretching would lead to unclear picture, hence the tv shows it in best fit. this is the case for 1080 movies as well.
