LG promptly replaced the set yesterday and installation was done to my satisfaction. I am told that the issue is on handling front where people mishandle things. Anyways I cannot complain as I got my peace of mind the same day.

About the panel, Awsome! I do not have any words to describe it. Keeping the orbital on during initial period. Brightness is at 50, contrast 73. Cant see any IR as of now.

You may want to check with Girias once. My friend in Mangalore (usually expensive than Blore) got it from Girias for 61.5K. So you must get a better(or same) quote from Girias in Blore.

I had paid 62K in Pai.

Also may I suggest that you group up as someone else from Blore is also looking for the same TV. The larger the group the more steeper discount you may get. Even if your group is two, you may be able to get the price slightly down

You will have that sticker only on 60Incher Models (PK550, PK950). If you say its of 50 Inch...I blindly buy it.

I had gone to the newly opened "LG Shoppe" in Santacruz (E) yesterday hoping to see demo of the newly launched LE8500 backlit LED.Unfortunaltely the panel has not yet made it to showrooms hence will need to wait for another week i guess.

On display i again saw the 50 PK550 (with a deadpixel when looked closely at) but didnt see any "Made in Korea" sticker on the panel. However the 60PK550 which was on display right below dwarfing the 50" did display a "Made in Korea" sticker.

Hence idlebrain if you could pls share with forum members of your discovery it would help less mortal souls like me think again in favour of buying PK550 (Had closed the deal at 59k a month back but backed out at the last moment).

Since its korean model I am only assuming it will have THX mode and other calibration option which was stripped in Indian Models. I am also a poor soul like you to find an excuse to purchase 550 or 950.

Guess honeynow is in demand to share the info on where such panels are available.

Idlebrain, i wouldnt say that just coz its korean make it will have THX or expert settings in the menu, reason being, i checked the menu of 60PK550 which is indeed a korean make during my visit to Sony mony and trust me it had neither.

There is no difference in specs if it's a PK550R. Honestly it doesn't make any diff where it is manufactured, Ind or Kr as PDP and SOC (XD engine) are sourced from Korea anyhow. The models for the US and Europe have those nice features for calibration, thx and bluetooth. And my nick is not honeynow
