Hi all,

I got a 55 inch LW5700 last week and trying to get the DLNA thing working with Nero media home server. Bluray movies streaming from my laptop over home wireless network are excruciatingly slow. Has anyone encountered a similar problem and any thoughts on how it can be fixed.

Unless you connect using the LAN, it will be slow if they are true 1:1 Blue Ray rips. It might stutter even on the 100 MBPS LAN though it should be fine with a Gigabit LAN.

Hi,
I bought a LW5700 3D TV recently. I am trying to give the audio output to a Home theater(Philips SP 080).
But When I connect it to the home theater, the volume is very very low. Please help me if there are any ways to make the volume better. Otherwise there is no option than changing the home theater.

Try connecting your source to the HT rather than the TV output. E.g., if you have tata sky, let the tata sky coaxial or optical output directly go to your home theatre.

Picked up 42LW6500 for 84.5 in Hyderabad. No goodies, just standard stuff like 4 glasses and magic remote.

Really liked the magic remote and most of the time I found myself using the magic remote.

Congrats on your purchase. LG products are great VFM ones.

Any idea about 47 and 55 pricing on 5700 series?

Did you compare it with 5700? (not by specs)

Hi guys, this is my first post. I have been following this thread with great interest as I too am interested in buying LG Cinema 3D. I was more inclined towards LW5700 and I am looking at 47" units. But I have seen none of your discussing about LW4500. I am not interested in smart tv functions but would like to know just for 3D is LW4500 not good? Have anyone of you demoed it? Please reply as it would help because price difference is 23K between LW5700 & LW4500 in 47"

All the smart TV functions are gimmicks. You can get those with any Rs.10,0000 media player like PlayonHD or Popcornhour. My playonHD has more smart TV functions than the LG LW5700 which I own. Not to forget the USB dongle that you will have to buy separately from LG. You can get the LW4500 if :

1. The LW4500 and LW5700 are equal spec to spec
2. You don't find much difference in picture quality looking at them side by side in the showrooms playing the same content.
3. If the price difference is really 23K for 47". For 42" its just 8K.

Another thing I would like to clarify is that I have not seen more than 50-60 minutes of 3D content since the day I got my LW5700. Don't base your choice on the 3D features since I can bet you are not going to use it much. I got the LW5700 for its sheer picture quality. But if you have the budget, go for the Plasma VT30 series from Panasonic. It's the best panel of 2011 so far. It might be available much cheaper in the Grey market.

Also when you demo TVs in the showroom, test both HD and SD channels side by side since you might be looking at more SD channels than HD channels in the current scenario.

Thank you so much! Yes, price difference is 23k you can also check it on letsbuy.com
Will definitely try VT30. I too have demoed lw5700 and liked what it offered and I have not been able to demo lw4500 yet. Will do so and give the feedback.

1) How much does the LG wireless Dongle for LW5700 costs?
2) Is it good enough to warrant a purchase?
3) Can I update the firmware through any other method other than connecting to the internet?

You could use a power line adapter, i got one of those, and it works fine

Dear friends and owners of LW6500,
please help and share your expiriance.

I plan to buy LW6500 (since I cant wait any more 9800 and have red bad experiances related with). I cant define size of the screen for my living room. I would like 55" but also scared to get counter effect. I will watch a lot of FULL HD channels, blue ray, XBOX and the problem is SD DIGITAL SIGNAL (a lot of channels) since in my country many channels are still SD. I have 2.3 meters to 3.8 meters to TV. So, few people seating will be on aprox 2.3 m and more people on aprox 3.5 m from TV. I saw cinema 3d in store on LW5500 42" and was satisfied. (55" they dont have I would have to order).

Besides, what is the minimum distance of 55LW6500 that 3d is viewable without any greater issues such as odd and even lines and crosstalk? Also with new firmware update. I have red many recommedations but they differ a much and perhaps not from users of this model or similar models with cinema 3d. Therefore, what is with sd definition on these distances and similar?

ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE
