Hi Guys,
I bought 42LW5700 in Pune just 2 weeks back in Diwali.
But had to leave for my native in Diwali, hence could not enjoy it to the fullest extend and still learning the TV.
I am having SD set top box from DISH TV at home and normally the channels which I watch are SD.
1) Can you pls suggest me the best picture setting for this TV for SD and HD ?
I will do these settings as a fresh, restoring factry settings to start with...
2) To get Audio output of my TV (playing Dishtv Content) to home theater (Philips), I connected TV using 3.5mm Jack to 2 x RCA Phono Stereo Audio Cable. I am getting the sound, but it is very low and I think something is wrong somewhere.
Looking forward for your reply.
Hi all,
there are no plans from LG to intigrate flash 10 into this set,Flash 10 wil only be availabe in 2012 models. The latest firmware is ver 04.01.24 and it DOES not rectify the PS lag issues. Also,in another 4 months time, this set will be obselete..No more new updates as the will focus on the 2012 models..
Hi All !!
Greetings!
I bought a new LG Cinema 3D LW6500 last month after reading lot of reviews on internet and found it best in the market.
I am enjoying it to its fullest (3D HD) capability and that too without any blue-ray player.
You can find lot of 3D HD videos on youtube and watch those on this wonderful cinema 3D. (just search for the HD 3D videos on you tube and you would find a lot of desired stuff there.
Go ahead and nJoy the LG technology to its best.
Cheers!
Karan
During Diwali, I checked first in Croma and then bought my 42LW5700 from LG Shoppee, Annanagar,Chennai. As you said Croma offered me for 1990/- for 2 years.
Can you tell me if it covers everything in the television.
LG Technician asking me to pay 6000/- per year(He says cust care is not aware)
LG Cust care asking me to pay 4400/- per year &
I negotiated with the LG technician stating the Croma price and he replied that Croma does not parts but only the Service visits. Maybe the LG technician is lying to me. Just for clarification...
I am thinking of taking a 3 years additional warranty. But the price quoted is very high. If Croma covers everything then that would be the best warranty deal. I am also planning to raise a complaint against LG customer service and LG Technician who quotes different pricing.
I have used the Vivid Preset setting and am pretty satisfied with it.
The best way is to get output from your Dish/Tatasky settop box directly into your home theatre using optical or coaxial out.

I do not own a flat screen yet but, I feel 40"/42" will be the max screen size you can choose for max of 8' viewing distance.Hi All,
After a lot of research and demos, I have finally decided to buy LG LW5700! The Passive 3D is just mind blowing! Its how 3D should be for home use anyways. The Active 3D just gave me a headache within 10 seconds of watching any demo video on it. It just felt like a gimmick. But this Passive 3D technology is something else. Even after putting the glasses on, there is not even an iota (well atleast it seems that ways) of reduction in the brightness....its as bright as any 2D content, which is just amazing. The 2D to 3D conversion (on HD content only) is just awesome! It didnt feel like a gimmick anymore. During a demo, I saw a live match (on a HD challen ofcourse) and converted it to 3D, and boy oh boy, felt like it was actually coming from a 3D source. Just amazing!
Now, the decision is made, but am in a dilemma. My viewing distance is max 8ft, thus am confused whether to go for 42inch or 47inch. I personally wanted 47, as it would increased the field of view, but every shop I went to, the sales guy suggested to go for 42inch max for that viewing distance. Now all me demos have been on 42inch versions from a distance of 8ft, and I have to say the 3D was amazing on it. But I have not been able to demo the 47inch version as none of these showrooms had it in display. Hence I am a little bit confused.
Can you please suggest what size would be best for 8ft viewing distance? Will it be too big and put strain on the eyes? If anyone has a 47inch version, can you please test it from 8ft, speaiclly 3D, as I think the 3D might look little hazy when its viewed from a less than optimal distance on these passive screens.
Any help would be helpful !
Thanks!

Hi, i have 42 inches 5700 tv, and i view it from 8 to 9 feet distance...
From a distance of 8 feet, 3d and HD viewing should not be a problem at all for 47 inches...
however SD content viewing which is more common as of today can become an issue... meaning , it may not be as crisp as one expect it to be...
others feel free to comment... and congrats for selecting LG 3d... it is worth it...
Yeah...one of the sales representative in a LG showroom told me the same that the 2D SD content would look blown up and blocky, but I thought he was saying that because he didnt have the 47 inch available for display.
