LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LW6500 Owner's Thread

Hi Friends,

I own 42LW5700. I would like to know if any one of you have purchased a wireless keyboard for this TV toeasily browse the internet on the TV ?

Magic Motion Remote is good, but not great, it helps, but not on all aspects, Typing is realling a pain :(

If anyone of you have the wireless Keyboard, do let me know how it works and what all you need to make that keyboard set up and work with lw 5700 or similar LG modesl ?

Cheers,
Sandesh

Should be fine with me....Did u demo LW4500 and checked out it in comparison to LW5700?

Yes i did see 4500 side by side with 5700, and i did not see much difference... but just looking at the reviews of equivalent 550 model (of 5700) in US and UK, i thougth of going for 5700...

Hi Guys,I bought a 47lw6500 last 28th Oct from Bajaj showroom at Chikadpally, hyd.I was told that We'll have it delivered by 2 weeks.Almost one month later we still haven't got it and we're aren't getting an exact date on when we'll have it.They were saying for a while that there is no stock in Hyd for that model and they have to order it from Noida. But even that has been a couple of weeks. So I'm just curious as to how long it took you guys to get the TV and any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks,Guys :)

dinni, I got mine in 2 days flat and that too during the diwali season. Initially I had ordered it from one dealer and paid an initial booking amount and the set was to be delivered in 2-3 days once I paid the complete amount but the dealer called me up the very next day to tell me that the set was out of stock. So I took back my booking amount and got it thru another dealer who sent me the set in 2 days. This dealer didnt even take any booking amount and had the set delivered to my house, had it installed and only after I checked the set and was satisfied did I pay the delivery persons the complete amount.

IMO try and locate any other dealer who has it in stock, confirm the availability and delivery date and then go back to your forst dealer and ask for a refund for any amount you might have paid. I am sure some dealer would have it in stock.

Hi,i want to know if my ps3 can share internet via hdmi with my lg smart tv?
" HDMI Ethernet Channel:
The Duracell HDMI 1.4 specification adds a data channel to the HDMI connection, enabling high-speed, bi-directional communication. Connected devices that include this feature can send and receive data via 100 Mb/sec Ethernet, making them instantly ready for any IP-based application. The HDMI Ethernet Channel allows internet-enabled HDMI devices to share an Internet connection via the HDMI link, with no need for a separate Ethernet cable. It also provides the connection platform that will allow HDMI-enabled components to share content between devices."
Thx in adv.

Hey dinni,

First I tried Croma (Mumbai) who had it in stock but were forcing for a complete payment before they delivered the product. I was reluctant at this because in case the TV was damaged in delivery or faulty then I would have to run arround for a replacement.

Just after coming out of Croma I headed to Sony Mony Dealers. They comfirmed in front of me with the LG people on its availbility and I paid a booking amount but the very next day they called to inform me that the set was unavailable. This really angered me and what was worse that the sales person was trying to convince me that to go in for a Samsung stating another customer wanted the LW6500 but due to non availability we sold him a Samsung. I congratulated him on his sale but told him if I wanted another brand / model I wouldnt be wasting my time looking for the LW6500.

After going back home empty handed I decided to check with some of the smaller dealers as I knew that they would go out of their way to hunt a set for me and also being small in size I would get a better response / service from them. This tactic worked and I finally placed my order thru Gemini Electronics. Not only did they confirm the availability of 7 sets but also took payment only after the set was delivered to my house and I had it unpacked and setup by their delivery team.

I would suggest that you too locate a smaller dealer with stock abailabity, pay a nominal token / booking amount of say Rs. 500 and have the balance paid once the set is delivered. If the dealer is Genuine and can arrange for a set for you he will agree for this.

All the best and keep us posted.

Hi Coolestone,We finally got the TV.It was delivered to us on the night of 6th We weren't expecting it to be honest lol but here it is and finally we got the chance to check it out.I love it of course! I will say though that it's a lesson learned for us and from what you told me about your experiences i just can't help but feel India needs better consumer protection agencies. The way some showrooms and ironically as it turns out,the big ones not the small ones, are playing the customers is really shameful. There should be a way we must be able to deal with tactics like this.Anyhow though,Am relieved really.Thank you for your reply again :)

Need help

Hi

I was delivered the LW6500 without the basic remote. NOw I am struggling to get a remote. I have been given a remote that is model number AKB72914276 but the 3D button does not do anything on the TV. It's been 1 month since I have this TV but have not been able to check the 3D feature. Can someone please let me know the model number (starting AKB..) of the remote for the LW6500 TV? You can see it just above the LG logo, below the info button.

Thanks.

Hi CoolestOne, Thank you so much :) We have been using DLNA streaming to watch a few movies and So far i'm really impressed with what the tv has to offer.I have noticed that with some DLNA the buffering has been a bit of an issue especially with Plex with it's 1080p buffering.Mezzmo is doing an excellent job with it though.Have you tried connecting a USB hub to your tv by the way?

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
