LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LW6500 Owner's Thread

Hi CoolestOne, Thank you so much :) We have been using DLNA streaming to watch a few movies and So far i'm really impressed with what the tv has to offer.I have noticed that with some DLNA the buffering has been a bit of an issue especially with Plex with it's 1080p buffering.Mezzmo is doing an excellent job with it though.Have you tried connecting a USB hub to your tv by the way?

Hey Dini,

I havent tried attaching a USB hub as yet. My system is in a temporary setup at the moment as I am in the process of shifting to a new house. It will take another month till the interiors are done in the new place and I can set up my HT system properly. In fact recently purchased a new sub and unfortunately it is still sitting pretty in its original box .

AT present my TV is setup in a rather ackward corner of my current house so still have not bothered moving it around to attaching a USB hub. I have my AVR to which I have attached all my peripherals including my Media Player and the AVR connects to the TV.

If you do try please share yiour experience with us. It would be helpful.

GUys...LW5700 [email protected] last week we were contemplating a Group Buy of kings..Now seems no one keen...

As a single buyer best I got is 76K...up 3K from last time....with 6 glasses

Yeah... surprizing ! .... i bought mine for 74k at Croma during this diwali and i still feel that i could have reduced it to at least by 2k more, but ...... anyways , it must be the demand and supply which is playing a trick on the price now... as we could see in this forum that 6500 supply is an issue now... the prabable 6500 buyers might have shifted to 5700 and this could be the reason of this price increase....this is just my guess...

I tried using a USB hub (powered) and it didn't work for me. I want to get the wifi dongle but don't have free USB port.

This could be because considerable (15%) drop in INR with respect to all other major currencies.

Hi Coolestone,Sorry about the delay in my reply.I haven't tried out the USB hub yet.we haven't gotten the LG usb as of now so we're just waiting for that.I was thinking maybe USB hub can make sure that we don't have to remove and put in the USB over and over again.

Sound System really is so awesome! I like watching movies on the PC and when it comes to sound i prefer my headphones over the TV speakers. It is a bit of a minus point when it came to LW6500 i have learned.Just a tiny set back though. So next purchase may be the HT system now haha :D

Actually my brother just told me that he tried using a Plug n play USB hub by Belkin and connected it to magic motion remote hub.Now with that, except for power on/off the other functions didn't work. It'll be interesting to see if storage USB can be connected and played.

I'll try it out and let you know when we get the LG USB :)

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum.

I have zeroed in on 42Lw5700 & have got a decent deal too but am yet to press the button - My major concern is pertaining to LG's passive 3D's loss of resolution due to FPR bands (horizontal lines) which are clearly visible from a closer distance in 3D mode. This effectively does not give a full HD 3d TV experience though it is much better than it's active 3D counterparts for its own set of reasons.

I learnt from some post on the web that LG has overcomed this flaw in their recent firmware update but I am unable to see anything to that effect from lg website or lg showroom.

Does anyboady have any update on this?
I need to make a choice that is future ready and that is the reason I thought of going for led tv with 3d & smart functions.

Any suggestions / comments are welcome and will be really helpful.

Seikometric!

I bought the ANVC 300 on ebuynow. Costed me about 3500+. Got delivered in 10 days time (apparently shipped from Spain for a puchase made in UK).

The installation was breeze. Just connected the cam which was identified instantly and we were on. The video quality is awesome and so is the voice clarity (though a lot depends on the bandwidth you have ... I have a 4 MBPS).

The downside is there are only predetermined 4 levels zoom. Does not have motion/audio sensor that can focus and zoom on the person speaking.
But hey ... thats only a minor glitch.

The BIG advantage is .... unlike the Kinect Video chat in Xbox where the videos are boxy and not ful screen, you can see the other persons video in full screen and its cool. The cam also has side by side boxy display option as well.

Overall, a decent purchase, Can go for it ... if your TV is Skype capable and hasn not come with the cam. It will complete your TV.

Cool do let me know the outcome. Will wait for your update.

Hi-

Can somebody suggest or share your exp in choosing a Soundbar to the LW5700/LW6500 ? I usually watch the News and all infotainment channels...music & movie channels in between. I do not like too much surround effect or bass for daily home use and also the solution should always-be-ready to function with TV (do not like another power ON, remote... etc just for the Sound)
Will a soundbar the good option or do I need to buy 2.1 channel HT system ?..budget..max 10k. Pls advise a make & model

Hi All,
Last week I purchased LG LW 5700 42" + Tata Sky HD+.
But whenever I convert the 2D picture to 3D, TV shows the two vertical black bar on left and right side TV. But if I use normal cable channel connection I am not facing this issue with normal cable channel.
Can you help me with this?
Do I need to make any setting in TV of Tata Sky?

This is happening with all the channels of Tata Sky including HD.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
