LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LW6500 Owner's Thread

Anyone having Audio Sync issues with this TV ?

Also can each individual Input be setup and retain it's settings ?

I noticed when i turned off the TV speakers while watching a Bluray on HDMI 3 input, that when i turned the tv back to free to air the speakers were still switched off.

I owe this tv (55LW5700) for 2 days and i have a mac which i connect to tv.

When i play youtube 3d videos they do not align when i choose SBS, and none other types of 3d display work fine.
What might be the problem ?

I also play 3d videos, downloaded by torrent, with VLC and some don't look that fine. Even one avatar 3d of 15gb which i can notice distortions in the back images, disturbs me. I have one full3dhd file even bigger that looks worse than the sbs file.

Is that a configuration problem ?
Or is it that the best i can get and i'm being too demanding ?

Have you got the 3d content put on usb lg pen drive along with the tv , does it look the same? Why don't you cal l lg care and get this checked through service guy s ? I also own this tv but no such issues . All the best!

Finally Booked 42LW5700 which is expected to arrive on 26th Jan. After much of a research zeroed on this model. Thanks to this forum to help me finalizing the this TV set.

I got the following offer of 73900/- TV+Magic motion remote+4 glasses + 8GB USB+ Scratch card. This is the best i could squeezed out

Now waiting for this to arrive. Meanwhile if somebody can sent the calibration settings & link to download 3D contents.

Hi all,

My 47 LW6500 fails to detect a WD 500GB HDD. Any additional settings required on TV? Please help.I have tried using a 8GB pendrive and that works fine but the issue is only with the 500GB HDD . When I plug in the HDD it looks its trying to detect the HDD for some time and gives up. No error or messages displayed.

I tried calling the LG Service center and the TECH informed HDD ports supports only upto 8GB

Please help.The HDD works fine when connected to my Laptop.

Hi Skumar4, I am using a 1TB HDD with my 47LW6500 without any problems what so ever since the lsdt 2 months. There are no additional settings required. The LG Service center and Tech have misinfrmed you. Please let me know if your HDD was formatted in Fat32 or NTFS.

Hi CoolestOne,Yeah I was hoping it will work as well.We had used it for Magic motion.With that only the power on/off buttons were working.The others didn't work.

Meanwhile i have got the quote of 7172 INR for 1 year extended warranty from LG personnel. Is it decent deal. I really want to get the extended warranty done. Let me know if somebody have got the better deal than this.

Also i noticed clouding in black screen on both corners of the TV. is it something unusual or its drawback of LED/LCD technology & i need to leave with it?

If somebody can share the calibration settings of this tv set.

You can a get a better deal of extended warranty.. I got a deal of 2 yrs extended warranty for 2k from croma. Note this is not from lg but from croma and even I was surprized to see this price when I got it...
As far as bleeding of light at corners , it is the fact for edge leds... Not only in lg, I got sony with me as well and it is the same... U unfortunaty will have to leave with it...
Calibration settings is a big question... I did a lot of search on this and u will find settings for either 6500 or 5600 but not for 5700, it seems like 5600 is same as 5700, but I tried both settings but was not happy with it... I am using standard default setting with local dimming low and I use it for both sd and hd videos...

I saw your replies on this forum reg. LW5700. I have ordered this set & it is expected to arrive on 26h jan 2012. Meanwhile i would like to have some of the 3D movies to check the performance of this set. Could you please share some of the 3D content you have if that is possible for you. I live in PCMC area & if required can drive down to your preferable location to copy across the content on my 1TB disk.

Please reply to this messages with your cell no if you are comfortable doing so.

I tried sending pm but did not go through... Anyways...

I do not have any 3d movies yet... As I do not have bluray player... I do have 2 dvds (Piranha and haunted) which has red and blue goggle 3d techology and those movies can be watched on regular tv as well... And those dvds can be purchased at less than 250 bucks in shop... I do have lg pen drive which I got as an offer with tv but that content you would have got with you along the tv I beleive... And to my knowledge this content can not be copied... I suggest few things... Download movies from torrent sites if you have good internet plan... Or connect the tv to internet and you have many 3d clips available on youtube... While downloading from sites do remember to dowload videos with dolby audio... hope this helps... I am hoping soon I will have bluray and a lot of 3d movies...

Have bought a LG W5700 from Dubai (during a visit). They told that they have included an International Warranty but, dont see any Warranty Card inside . LG India wants a Warranty to even setup the basic LG apps.

(1) Any clues how we can get this Intl Warranty - has anybody got an Intl Warranty from Dubai? What alternatives exist here in India and what would be the cost involved???

(2) Does this TV (W5700 have a Picture-in-Picture (PIP)???

Hi... Friends, I am facing an issue with my magic motion remote control since last few months.. When I switch on tv, the magic motion works as expected... However after some time (not always but at times ,very unpredictable) it stops working... when I push the button, the red light blinks, but remote does not work ... Regular remote works fine... now when I remove the usb of magic motion receiver from tv and put it again , it starts working again.. Is anyone facing this issue... Do let me know the solution...

Hi Friends,

I am facing problem with my newly purchased 42LW5700. On switching it ON, randomly I see a green scrambled screen instead of actual picture. This is not happening every time I switch it on but may be once in 10-15 times. I managed to click the picture last time it happened yesterday (image inclosed below).

I am really worried - whether it is a major problem and something to do with hardware. I am wondering whether I should take this up with LG as TV is new and in warranty. Has anybody come across something similar?

I have been updating the firmware regularly and recently updated it to v. 4.03.13.

Please advise, if this is serious?

Any suggestions / inputs will be highly appreciated.
