LG Cinema 3D LW5700, LW6500 Owner's Thread

Got my 42LW5700 4 days back in bangalore. 71.5k + goodies + hdmi cable - Pen drive. I can give the details if anybody is interested..
I have a few questions here.
When I select on Web browser and other apps it says coming soon. When is it coming, any idea?
Current version running is 4.01.21. Is this the latest version?
In the home page under "Premium" tab, it says "Downloading software progress" and a rotating progress indicator comes. I kept the TV on for 4+ hours (display off) and still it was saying the same thing. Any idea what it is downloading for 4+ hours?
I have a Realtek WLAN 11g USB dongle. Can I use it to connect the TV to my wireless router? If so, how? I tried putting it in USB port, it didn't work..

Hi guys,
finally my home is set and would be buying this tv (42 inch) maximum by next week. Letsbuy has a deal for 73k+....is it ok to buy from an online vendor? Warranty is original, so that is not a worry. Main issue is the transportation and handling.

I have purchased 32" 3d led tv o f videocon modelno v32550pb with price of 33000 rs.

I have seen demo of lg and videocon before purchasing videocon(INDIAN) , the demo was not impressed me but after that I have taken clip of lg demo and played on videocon , I have really surprised with the result of videocon tv

only issue no ips panel but with this prize you can not ask for and you should not worry if you are not having small kids

Absolutely great result I will recomend same & came to know that Videocon uses the same panel which used by LG.

Finally bought 42" 5700 !!!! Wanted the 47" but after trying out both variants in the showroom it seemed like 47 would be an overkill for my viewing distance (8ft). Am soooooooooooooooo happy !! Wanted this tv since sooooooo long!!!

Just one query though...can I connect any usb camera for skype or does it have to be the LG one????

Even I felt that 47 would be fine and was infact looking to buy that only....but both me and my wife felt after checking both tvs together (one above the other) that the 47inch one felt too big and uncomfortable for regular viewing!

Over time even 50 feels small to me...
But any way its a done e deal now. Enjoy it... This is just for future purchasers.

Lg service guy asked me to reset the tv to factory settings and told this should solve the issue... Let me observe this for 2 to 3 weeks and let you guys know...

Inspite of remote and dongle replacement, the problem still persist .now they are telling that they will replace the controller inside and if this still persist then tv replacement. Overall I am bit disappointed now...

1) Is local dimming option available in 5700? (it is available in 5600, and someone mentioned it can be activated in 5700 as well. Is it true?)
2) Also, does the 3d settings work on the input as well, i.e. say if I am watching a 3d youtube clip by connecting my laptop with the TV using VGA?

Have you demoed it in any showroom? Personally I feel its definitely worth it. I have been reading about it since a long long time, have demoed it atleast 12-13 times in the showroom, and have to say, the passive 3d tech is the way to go for 3d.

However, users have reported about light bleeding and game lag issues, so best is to test it out before buying!

Personally, I feel this is the best tv if you want to go for 3d!

Got my answers .

The set does have the option for local dimming and the only 3d option available when connected through vga is 2d-3d.

Got the tv installed yest....lil disappointed with the 3d stuff out there....mainly every movie has lits of depth but lack the stuff that pops out of the screen. I love the 2d-3d conversion.....adds serious depth without losing any resolution

I own LW6500 42" LG 3D TV. I also have Tatasky HD connection. Tatasky HD supports 7.1 surround sound and I want to make use of that. I want 7.1 speakers or 7.1 home theater system. A very few hollywood movies up to date are made , which supports 7.1 surround sound. LG LW 6500 3D TV has optical out for sound. Creative has 7.1 spakers showing on their website but even in Mumbai they are not available or out of stock ?. In Lamington road Dealers and Distributors are saying that they are not in stock , after company get manufacturing the same we will let you know. 5.1 Home theater ststems are costlier.
So l want to know the companies and model number of 7.1 speakers or home theater system and cost of the same. Also let me know decent 6.1 or 5.1 speakers or home theater system which are compactible with my TV. Please discribe in brief how to connect the spakers or home theater system to my TV and also how to connect Tatasky HD audio output to speakers or home theater system.
