hi friends,
plz help me out recently a very small insect was crawling between the glass coating and led panel of my lg lw5700 and it died right in the middle of the led tv . first i thought it was a dead pixel, but by waching closely it was a tiny insect with wings. I have 7 yr old samsung lcd monitor and no *ucking insect has got inside it till now....

guys what to do now ? should i claim for replacement as it seems to be a manufacturing defect.plz help!!! btw i love this tv...

Im from panvel,navi mumbai.

Try to get it replaced. You have to fight hard for that as they say can't guarantee for insects :-)

one more sad thread
I bought LW5700 around 3 months ago... suddenly from past two days, I see a complete vertical column of pixel on the right half of the panel. These pixels are seen in black color & its clearly seen while rendering any dark colors.
While the TV is switched off, the same is not seen, so not sure if these are dead pixels.

anyway, LG technician is due to come today evening, hoping things go right...

Not to worry since this happened in warranty period. Good luck.

LG technician claims one vertical LED light is gone & the panel needs to be replaced. Thank God, its under warranty.
But, now that this is happened, I have been pushed to buy the LG warranty (which is very high), should I go for it?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to update you all on my past posts regarding complaint with 42LW5700 purchased in Jan'12.

As advised by friends on this thread I'd registered complaint with LG - They did try resolving issue of 'green screen on boot-up' by changing motherboard and panel but this led to another problem of colour leakage at the edges of screen visible on black colour.

Finally LG agreed for a refund and I am pleased that I got my refund amount back last week.

Now I am back to square 1 - which TV to go for???

Had a look at new LM series from LG but I'm bit sceptical now. I am thinking I will avoid going for 3D as I hardly used it during last 6 months.

Also, I am thinking that I will buy model with best resolution and smart functions so that I can move it to bedroom in couple of years and go for latest one then for living room.

Can you guys help me in identifying one with best screen resolution and all the smart functions. I am open for any brand / any screen type i.e. LCD-LED-PLASMA etc. / price range of 60K to 80K)

Also, where to get good bargains in Bangalore.

LG LM series is not good for the price. If you really want one go for the lowest 6200 models.

Samsung ES6200 is a good option. Not seen Sony mid range models, so no comments.

Plasma will offer better picture and value if you chose it right. Check out Samsung E550 and Panasonic ST50 series.

Has anybody bought the high priced LG warranty? is it worth going for it.
My understanding is, anything that can go worng invariably happens from the electricity surge/fluctuations, so a good stabaliser can protect the television unit (which I should have done, late realization:o )

esteemed readers, so do you think its any worth going for the warranty given by these manufactures for with high premium?

They asked me for the price of 16k for additional 3 years for my 42LW5700.

Even i am in same confusion or to go for it. Or if anyone has taken insurance for these products, so we can pay a nominal amount for these TV's to claim any failures in spare parts later.
