Yes I have. I guess the tv only retains time if it is powered on. If it is shut down completely (mains off) then it cannot retain the time setting. So to that extent the clock seems to be useless.
And thanks for the explanations on the 200 Hz thing. So I guess this obviates the need to upgrade my graphic card? And yes that 60 Hz is from PC input. And again you are right the temperature comes only on the premium screen, my bad!
In the meanwhile. Here is another update on my tinkering. I tried two-three other things
1. I connected a 1TB portable WD drive. It played all videos including mkv easily.
2. Tried video streaming from a networked windows 7 computer. Could not play the video when I sent instructions from the computer but when I used the tv to play files by using (input=DLNA) it play a avi file without problems.
Has anyone tried it with Win XP? . I did not have to use the bundled sofware with Win 7. I guess one would need to install the media server in WIN XP.)
These two (portable drive and streaming from the computer) put together, I guess, make my idea of buying WD Live HUB redundant (so 10000 bucks saved
)
3. Only 2 USB slots is a downer. With wireless dongle and magic remote none are left free. Any way around this? I had to remove the magic remote to try the portable drive. Magic remote is not that good anyway (2000 rupees not so well utilized!), doesn't work half the time.
Now only if I could get a audio out to my existing analogue 5.1 HT, so that I don't need to use the TV speakers, I won't really need to buy a new HTPC just for optical link ). (I did try the Head phone out but the volume remains too low most probably the impedance is too low (16 ohms).
