Hi, everyone.

Two days ago I got my first Plasma TV the samsung PS43F4900. Here are few pics.

Didn't do any break-in stuff, just watching normally in standard mode with low setting.

I strongly recommend that don't use Airtel DTH with plasma.
I suffered with Airtel logo and changed to Videocon DTH.

But currently the picture is dark compared to my 22" samsung LCD. My dad is not liking it. Please suggest some settings.

Plasma will always be less bright than LCD/LED. In a room with lot of light, the plasma picture will feel washed out. You should reduce the ambient light to make plasma appear more attractive.

I watch my plasma during day time with all curtains drawn and during night time with a table lamp with 10W CFL reflecting light off the wall. This also helps in reducing glares and reflections. No one complains at my home that plasma is not bright enough.

What settings should i use?

Currently m using,
standard mode
cell=12
contrast=45
brightness=58
sharpness=45
dynamic contrast=off
black tone=off
color space=native
white balance=default
gamma=0
motion lighting=off
color tone=cool
other settings are at auto.

Congrats! looks fantastic and yes plasma rules

It might tend to appear less bright compared to LCD depending on the ambient lighting,I guess in dynamic mode it might burn like a torch just like LCD's but for at least 200 hours its safe to watch with lower settings and then you can demonstrate the television to your dad with dynamic setting.

The samsung guy said these new f series will not have IR problems, they are factory broken-in. May be he is right.

Can you please tell other samsung models released in 2013.
It was mentioned as F4500 in some of the sites. Samsung India site is not yet updated.

Gamma = 2.2 will bring more cinema like appearance with natural skin tones. Gamma increase results in yellowish tinge to the picture.

Here are some more pics

This are the pair of 3d glasses i got, model= ssg-5100GB comes with cr2025 cell.

I removed the blue/red protective layer, the 3d view is little better now. The 3d experience is good but nothing spectacular.

The remote has one extra feature the sports mode, its nothing but some tweaks in picture and sound i think.
