Yesterday, i went in for 42GT20 but came out with 50V20 for a lip smacking price!! :yahoo: All along on the way, i had made up my mind on 42GT20 and got 48K confirmed for a single piece. Once in the showroom, folks saw the 50V20 and i don't know what happened in the next 30 mins, we were on our way out with 50V20. Anyways.

I thank all here for the advice and suggestions.

Don't u think Panasonic is messing things up.
One don't expect such things such as floating blacks, MLL, Fluctuating brightness year after year. All this is making me paranoid.
Earlier it used to be burn-in and now these. I am delaying again my purchase.In fact i'm starting to have little to no faith on the reliability aspect of plasma's.

I understand your view point. I just did some reading on the net and also checked out some Youtube videos and at least to my understanding, floating blacks are not as big a problem as FBr, and if you are buying a **30, make sure you get hold of a piece that has a manufacturing stamp of Aug '11 or later

Anyways, I think you need to look very close to be able to identify the problem, which in many cases is actually non-existant

yesterday i called the Panasonic service center they said they have no idea about FBr issue and if u have purchased one with this issue then you will have to bring the set to the service center.

So the 3 year warranty offered by the Panasonic is not an onsite warranty i guess, is this true.

And as per the link below, buyers of this model are having a tough time replacing their A-board.

Head with your cheque book to Devi. You would not get this price straight away. Ramesh and Sesha are the persons you need to speak to. If they do not oblize go ahead and speak to Naren. He is the promoter. He will bring it down, based on your negotiation skills. Yes, i could have got GT20 at this price.

Devi. And they have asked me not to disclose the price. But suffice to say, it will keep you drooling. :yahoo:

Got a wireless keyboard, i.e it. Scratch card said something to the effect of best wishes There might be 3-4 pieces of 50V20 left. That is what they told me.

I googled quite a bit for floating blacks on GT20, since there were no complaints particular to the GT series; however, I did not find any matching hits.

And then I hit upon this review, which says that the GT20/25 did not exhibit floating blacks!

One gt20 model available at mangalore pana showroom. He is not ready to quote a price to me. Had got a good bargain with him for vt20( straight from 93k to 75k):lol: with help of forum guys. He could not make much profit out of it. Now he doesnt want me to rob him of gt20 profits. Last time he quoted 65k for the same and still looking for a bakra

Friends you wouldn't believe what happened yesterday, i went to Devi Int to buy washing machine and bought Panasonic 42GT20 for 48k :yahoo:. I just went in asked for Ramesh, saw him, shook his hand and said, i came the panasonic TV. He said ST right i said GT. Then i asked him whats the price, he asked me, whatever i quoted earlier. I said 48k, he said ok. Sad part the washing machine which we asked for was out of stock :sad:. So gave the documents for for EMI with 0% intrest and did a down payment of 2200k. Damn i for the cheque book :sad:, so will get the TV today by evening hyeah:.
And the free goodies, he promised 2 3d glases, wireless keyboard and a rebook watch.

It is unbelievable how much they can come down on prices in Devi. I don't know how they do it, when in other shops one cannot bring it down by half as much.

Not much science here. Panny can not do that using their brand store , so they use these retailers to sell at discounted prices. Where do you think the stocks are coming from ?

At every retailer one panny brand employee is deputed to give discounts. We all think it is Devi giving discounts but in reality it is panasonic.

If its 50vt20 then croma is offering bangalore/hyd like prices. Difference is that instead of 2 3d glasses you get other freebies/cash discounts/cashback. There are 5 brand shops in Pune. They belong either to Sakura or Rajesh trading co. Sakura has stocks of this TV but the least quote I got was 85K with 2 3d + standard freebies (on Saturday). Not sure if Rajesh tradng co. has the stock now. They were supposed to arrive on Tuesday (quote 77k with 2 3d glasses). If interested let me know I can check.


For others Pune is pathetic. You wont even find a display piece except of course in brand shops.

i hv called the ramesh the salesperson he said gt20 price is 57k nthng less ..he also said that 48k is now out of context ....
