Yes , after around 58%, it went super fast ..

-There is now an option in "input selection" for SD card/USB..
-Do reset all your color settings , I feel that there is a bit black enhancement , could be entirely a placebo effect.

Can anyone see if the Fluctuating brightness is there ?

Updated it just now. Well I too fell the blacks have improved slightly or might be a placebo effect like yours :ohyeah:. One other thing that I noticed was earlier that when I used to switch to game mode, the screen would flicker/turn off for a second and change. Now it changes quite smoothly, no flicker at all. Have not noticed any fluctuating brightness or probably do not know how to look for it ;)
 
Guys, my ST30 was delivered to me yesterday. I checked that it was imported in August -2011. I remember reading a post that pre Aug-2011 models had some brightness issue. How do i check this? Also what should i check to ensure its not a demo piece ?

Thanks Naveen. My ST30 is not yet unpacked. Wanted to do the initial checks-
- The cellophane tape sealing the top of the box is a normal broad transparent tape. Is this how it comes from the company.
- The box containing the 3d glasses was not sealed too
- Any other checks i should run when the box is opened by the Pana installation guy.
 
you dont unseal anything before the sales person or panny demo guys comes. Just let it be where it is :D

When sales guys or demo guy comes , let him install and do his job. After everything is complete and when he gives you the remote , tell him he is going to check the usage , show the image i gave or you do the procedure.

It should show the minutes used , and no of times the TV was switched on. Usage itself should tell you if its new or old. If its old , take a picture (mobile / camera) of the usage page and ask him to replace then and there itself.

But now my problem is I have to ship this 2 my native which is Erode. Croma refused to deliver there so I have to make my own.

They say Plasma TV is so fragile than LED/LCD and have to be very careful while shipping.

i read somewhere that u can attach external hard drive to st30, i tried to connect my ntfs formatted 1tb hard drive and it did not show.
does it support external hdd?

I connected my NTFS formatted 1TB Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex while auditioning and none of Panasonic Plasma TV (2011 and 2012 models) played video ! ( but detected and played image and music files) . After reading for few seconds , entire TV re booted.
My be due to my disk contained large number of files.

But When I connected to Samsung 43D450 , it played effortlessly!

But now my problem is I have to ship this 2 my native which is Erode. Croma refused to deliver there so I have to make my own.

Yes. Be extra careful. My panel arrived in damaged state and Panasonic replaced it in about a week's time since their dealer had shipped it.

If you want to transport by yourself , i would suggest first seeing if courier service can do that . I am not sure , but see if you can insure the item with that courier service people. If they allow , insure it for that extra amount and get it transported. Plasma , due to its gas content is advised not to be shifted /transported too often. Or you can do that yourself with a SUV or something , and drive at very low speed.

is there any possibility of resetting the usage hours counters? How far we can trust this to check whether a demo piece or not?

I dont think , it can be afaik. and i dont think dealers have the instruments / devices to reset the counters either. If you are doubtful , do the usual checking , scratches , dust , fingerprints etc etc..

I called the pana customer care and they said that the testing team might have forgotten to reset after the tests. Can it actually be reset? I have asked for a replacement. They are yet to respond.

Can you please let me know from which shop did u buy (Name and location of the shop) . What was the cost and how many glasses did u get ?

I called the pana customer care and they said that the testing team might have forgotten to reset after the tests. Can it actually be reset? I have asked for a replacement. They are yet to respond.

if they r reaplacing the TV ask for ST50 or go for refund. BTW where did you buy it from and what's the cost?

Looks to be a demo piece :mad:. I would insist on a replacement.
Did you see ant IR/Burn-in of DTH/Channel logos when you run the vertical scroll bar?

Looks like demo piece. Dont budge into their excuses , insist you want a fresh product.

Also Do take picture of the usage hours ASAP along with some newspaper or something.

Dont use the TV till you get a replacement. 131 hours almost runs in to 6 days max , dont try to extend it.

Why are you calling the customer care ? call your dealer , from whom you bought and ask him to replace with fresh piece.

This is why i advice everyone who gets a new TV to check the usage in front of the installation guy and also never to open the box till they come or ask them to accompany along with the TV for installation and demo.

I have taken a snap of the counter yesterday and immediately logged a complaint with customer care to ensure that they dont back off later.
