btw..hw many hours, did you complete break in period?...I am actually considering skipping breakin after 50 hrs itself....for my UT30...now after reading your exp even iam considering doing a complete 100 hrs....

Slides do not prevent burn-in, IR. They only age the panel evenly so that later specific settings can be applied and they are effective.

should have crosssed 100 hours , but i made a grave error in judgement that with pixel orbitor i am safe , and ran NG HD most of the time... by bad... started scroll bar now .. planning to run it full day ..
even still i am not sure how to go on with here after , i watch most of the time on airtel dth , and the logo stays there for almost all channels.. i dont know what to do..
but let me tell you guys , it is only visible with closest inspection on a grey dark background..

Well at present i dont know..
checked it , the logo is there , needs very very close observation with a black background. it appears there , but today it appears slightly smudged.. will report back after running the scrollbar for few more hours..
probably, you can try zoom3 with breakin settings for another 100 hrs...hope that may help...
but from what ever i have read and heard, its not uncommon in plasmas to spot little IR occasionally, they usually are temporary in nature....but it can be scary to spot as we have spent lot of money on our sets...i hope i dont come accross any on my UT30...:sad:

Its really irritating after spending so much still we cant watch tv we like to.:sad:
After the initial break-in period, the potential for burn-in from constant displaying of black bars is greatly reduced is what has been recommended by companies like samsung and panasonic themselves.
yeah, but then we chose plasmas due to the benefits they have....
I hope IR after 200 hrs is a rarity these days as there are lot of happy plasma owners out there who also watch SD content(movies with black bars and news)....on daily basis....atleast we cant see them posting in forums about IR on their sets...

well yesterday the screen switched-off automatically after the auto-standby ie 2hours.. and i have been watching more of airtel DTH off-lately thinking that pixel orbiter will take care . The issue is airtel logo has white letters which is why i got a IR/BI .. my bad.. but even still for next foreseeable 2 years i will be watching HD content on DTH , and i p.s love NG HD / Discovery HD ,but has logo at same position. So even if i did get the logo removed (hope so) , i dont know what to do there after.
very true... but we got it knowing it will happen or possibilty was there. BLASTO was kind of right when he said fast phosphors has higher tendency for IR/BI issue than VT20
ya i wish its just a IR .. just now power came back , started running hte scroll bar , lets see.. will try to post a picture of the IR

anyway i will be stil running the scrollbars for some more hours and look deeply just to be sure..
as of now , i can only see vaguely something of airtel logo , but definitely it has reduced by 80%

good to hear that...my only concern is that this was only a matter of small logo, but in future (even after breakin) what about the black bars which are unavoidable for SD watching, or tickers while watching news channels on plasmas...
I got a Hathway connection just to avoid the dth logo. They have all the channels with good quality and low cost. Now they have introduced HD which i will be getting soon and they have promised atleast 15 channels by next month.
And about the IR issue, it is a "feature" of any and all plasmas. But don't worry as permanent burn in does not happen in the new 2010, 2011 plasmas.
I have noticed faint IR after watching sony tv for a few hours a few times but it just goes off after switching to other channels in a few minutes and not even visible if specifically not looking for it.
I just recommend everyone to get a cable or dth which does not have a logo or a atleast has a transparent logo.

had scroll bar run for around 4-5 hours and then my bro wanted to watch the match , avoided the logo as much as possible and now the foot print of the logo is almost undetectable.. will avoid the logo for following few days . I am happy that it didnt turn out to be a burn-in..initially it looked like burn-in.

apart from logo issue i had , when the screen displays something , that IR vanished .. as for black bars , i am using a zoom feature , not bad actually.
just watch NG HD / Discovery HD / Star world HD , you will never go back to SD contents on this screen..
but it does create problem if you have many movies which has black bars..
yup you are right , but even in airtel , the logo change from channel to channel
, some are true transparent , some are notd2h has 100% transparent logo give a try
it will be atleast 1 year it will take for me to change , went for a 1 year pack
