Just keen to know .. is there a difference between a 1TB Backup Plus and a 1TB HDD like a WD one I have?
So if I wanted to upgrade, should I buy a 2 or 3TB Ext HD or go for a Backup Plus?
Pls advise...

Q: What is Seagate Backup Plus, and how is it different from GoFlex drives and competitive products?
A: Seagate Backup Plus is a new hard drive from Seagate that simplifies backup for consumers who want to protect their entire digital life locally, in the cloud or from social networks.
Using the new Seagate Dashboardpre-loaded on every Backup Plus driveusers can:
Use the Protect function to set up a one-click backup plan or customize a scheduled local backup.
Use the Save feature to back up user-generated content from your favorite social networks automatically.
Use the Share feature to upload multiple files to social networks from your computer.
Carrying on from the GoFlex family, Backup Plus also supports the following special features:
Cross-platform usage between a Mac and a PC without reformatting (requires installation of an optional, pre-loaded driver)
Interface interchangeability between USB 3.0, FireWire 800 and Thunderbolt to suit your connection needs across all of your computers.
Q: Will Seagate still offer GoFlex drives or will those products be discontinued?
A: GoFlex drives are still available and will still be sold on Seagate.com and through our usual retail partners for a number of months. From a support standpoint, we will still continue to provide customer assistance to those who own GoFlex and older Expansion drives, as well as honor our warranty on those products.
