Right now I am listening to ...

moserw, you are one lucky guy!

You spend the day listening to music while I am working out here  (mad at myself). You get to listen to more albums in a day, than I listen to in a week. You have set a target for all of us.

BTW, I listened to "Zila The Girl Child" yesterday. Pretty good!
This lady knows her music and delivers it like a powerhouse.
Her previous album "Ishq Ki Nayee Bahar" was also extremely good:
BAHAR.gif

Her rendition of the famous bandish "Lat Ulajhi" is the most powerful I have ever heard. Difficult to believe that she is still so young.

Regards,
Sharad

Great album, great tracks all round. I personally like Rod Stewart's version of Have I Told You Lately more probably because of hot Rachel Hunter...

Brown Eyed Girl alone is worth the price of the CD.

personally speaking i find the van morrison renditions of these two songs better (more on the 'soul' content)..as for naughty rod, he doesn't get better and (raunchier) than maggie may..

Moser is a very nice fellow. But I am telling you guys - he has either been given a CD shop as legacy by one of his uncles, or he has gone one night with a truck and lifted all the stock !! :)

I don't know how many of you have heard Ned Miller. He used to sing in the late 50s. Has a voice like Talat Mehmood. His album - Best of Ned Miller - has some superb songs including the title song 'From a Jack to A King'. Other good songs include Magic Moon, Invisible Tears, Do What You Do Do Well, Just Before Dawn, Dark Moon

Very simple guitar, a golden voice - Ned is damn good.

Another oldie I listened to recently as the Best of Trini Lopez. This album includes If I Had a Hammer, Lemon Tree, This Land Is Your Land, El Condor Pasa, Guantanamera, Blowin' in the Wind. When everybody was singing slowly and romantically. Trini Lopez burst into the scene with his fast number, and a fair bit of yodeling. Always brought a smile to our faces. Does even now.

Cheers

I remember I had this tape Best of 1950s/1960s don't remember exactly but it had a couple of songs from Trini Lopez - If I Had A Hammer and El Condor Pasa if I remember correctly. Never could lay my hands on a complete album of Trini Lopez though.

BEST WORLD MUSIC ALBUM IN WORLD EVER!

If you are open to experiments, this is a great album. Two CDs with 30 excellent songs by artists across the world. Very good sound recording too.

This album was earlier released as "Ecstasy".

Thanks,
Sharad

hello ,
Right now i am listening to Because Of you ( love songs vol 1) the songs i like the most in this album are ' i would love you to want me' by Lobo and 'Father Figure' by George Michael. overall a good album

Had no idea there were so many fans of Tears for Fears....Everybody Wants To Rule is my personal favourite and some day I will be driving a convertible playing that song...someday... Advice for the Young at Heart is another of my favourites from them apart from all the other hits...
There was a phase in my teens when I just loved The Pet Shop Boys and I am the proud owner of all their albums with the exception of their last release....I do hope they continue churning out music till the very end

Coming to Anand Shanker, Amazon would be a good place to start. Most of my CD purchases are on Amazon. Coming to converting tapes to CDs or wave files, well my cousin has a s/w that does the conversion. Let me check with him about the s/w and if its freeware and I will post more details about it.

Totally agree with you about Tears For Fears and PSB. Also, count me in for the drive...

Quite violent, but still good. Great for Indian artists like her making it big. She was performing at the Grammy awards today and I had to pull out this CD. Worth at least for the fact that it is an Indian, forget all the politics.

Anand Shankar albums are available on Saregama HMV and one remix from Virgin Records.

MIA is good and has a mature sound to her music than one would expect. Also, she's not exactly Indian, but a Sri Lankan Tamil settled in UK.
