Right now I am listening to ...

Over the last two days I heard 'The Confluence' featuring Rahul Sharma on the Santoor, and Richard Clayderman on the Piano, a number of times. Both artists are fantastic in their own rights, but to hear Clayderman play Indian numbers with such gusto and precision is something not to be missed. Many places Rahul leads with the Santoor, but Richard's piano merges so well with the sound of the Santoor, it is eerie. Other artists provide support with guitar, flute and percussion.

Bravo Richard and Rahul!! Please bring us more albums.

The tracks are:

1. Together
2. Jailsalmer
3. Yeh Hai Bambai Meri Jaan
4. Blues Heaven
5. Tere Ghar Ke Saamne
6. Ecstasy
7. Dekha Ek Khwab
8. Norwegian Wood
9. Shangrila
10. Celebration

Listening to the same album tight now, very intricately worked up tracks indeed. A close comparison with Silas in indeed imminent

Its been only ABBA the entire weekend for me.
Saw the movie Mama Mia on friday and just cant stop inserting one abba disc after another. Movie is average though and the performance of all the artists is below par.

chicago - greatest hits. a little before my time but amazing rock group. one hit after the other

It looks as if Rahul Sharma and Richard Clayderman heard my plea. They have brought out 'The Confulence II', an album with 9 tracks all composed by Rahul. The first hearing that I had yesterday made me smile with pleasure. It contains the following tracks:

1. A Pure Flame Of Love
2. Dance Avec Ta Vie
3. Dance Of The Sufi
4. Endless Love
5. Forbidden Dreams
6. Fragrant Night
7. Le Chant Des Algues
8. The Chase
9. The Chase Continues

Needs a couple of more serious listening to understand the rhythm and mood of the music.

Cheers

Vaaranam Aayiram

A colleague of mine was kind enough to offer me this CD, nice songs - although I always feel a strong undercurrent of ARR influence in Harris Jayaraj's compositions, not to mention the repetitive tunes.

Munthinam my current favorite.

The Beatles, 'Rarities'

Stephane Grappelli & David Grisman, 'Live 1981'

Django Reinhardt, 'Django'49'

Traveling Wilburys, 'Vol 1'

Joe Cocker, 'Mad Dogs & Englishmen'

radiohead - in rainbows
iron & wine and calexico - in the reins (my new standard for auditioning new systems)
lovage - music to make love to your old lady by
saltillo - ganglion
portishead - third
the cinematic orchestra - ma fleur
and true to my metal roots, metallica - death magnetic ( i got a rip off of guitar hero 3 because the retail master is horribly compressed, my ears go ouch!)
