Right now I am listening to ...

Another great album. Guess I am mellow and in the mood for mushy music this morning. Still The Carpenters always gave great music.

A good solid effort at expanding their music from Coldplay this time around. They not content with delivering the same kind of music as in their previous albums which is the way most bands would take. Coldplay have however experimented as evidenced in the very first track "Life In Technicolor" which builds up in tempo. Lyrically too this album has had a lot of effort put into it. This would have been worthy of the Record of the Year Grammy, but that has gone to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - Raising Sand so waiting to check it out. Hopefully that CD is available in Sangeeth Saagar or Music World.

Quite a consignment, Ashok !

Timbaland is not the performing artist, he is the producer, but many artists like Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake among others owe their success to him. It's therefore no surprise when they are found performing on this album. Lots of good tracks on this one, the standout one is "The Way I Are", I must have played this one a million times in my car and at home. Just gets you grooving and dancing in no time at all. A year back I never even knew of Timbaland, a friend recommended him and man I have been hooked line and sinker.

Lots of explicit lyrics so not everyone's cuppa chai. Still Lil Wayne keeps getting better and better if gangsta rap is your scene then this is some of the best work ever available in that genre. Even won a Grammy for best rap album...

Bowers & Wilkins - Very Audiophile New Recordings Volume 1 & 2. Great recordings, not very mainstream artists, but still a must have if you want to show off your great equipment. My cousin is coming in with a stash of Chesky CDs, will post on them once through them.

the b&w cd looks interesting. what sort of music does it have - acoustic / rock / jazz / alternative....

Mainstream easy listening ballad kind of music, yeah acoustic too. Sara K., Allan Taylor are two of the artists on the CDs.

An amazing album, in one word "brilliant". Plant is always brilliant, but its Krauss who is at the forefront with her vocals here and Plant just blends in. Worth every penny for the CD.

moserw, looks like you are on a ACD buying spree in times of recession :D

Actually a sister and a SIL in the U.S. help a ton and also a cousin in the merchant navy who comes in every 3-4 months from Europe helps even more so, recession or no recession.

Not much of a jazz aficionado myself and do prefer Kenny G. in instrumental along with Robert Miles, Enigma, Era, etc. Still great recordings and something you will dig if jazz is your scene.

Edit - My wife woke up to this "instrumental music" and asked for a repeat/more of it, so I guess more points to this album.

i slowly coming to a different 'conclusion'.

like u have tea tasters, moserw seems to be a music taster for all the big labels intending to bring (choose) their music selectively into india, so the constant feed.

wish i had the job, or a similar one.

pun...... moserw. in jest. u kno we all envy u.

Got both the recent A.R.Rahman releases; Ada and Jane Tu...

First impression- not bad!

Ada is a good collection of songs which reminds me of the movie "Taal" for whatever reasons. I liked all the songs but the one by Udit Nryn titled 'hai dard', its kinda too boring for my taste-strictly imho, ofcourse!

Jaane Tu... is different from Ada in many ways. First of all it doesnt remind me of any of his other works. But it does remind me of Michael Bubble. The song "tu bole mein boloon" is typical jazz adaptation with the obvious bollywood twist. But I liked it.

I like Ada better compared to the later one. Not tryin to do a review here, just my impressions!

Cheers.

there is a song, u say potato i say potaaato... in the movie 'when harry met sally'. Jaane tu 'to bole main boloon' is 'similar'.
