1979 LP release of the 1975 concert Live at the Royal Albert Hall with the Wren Orchestra. These classic compositions with a full western orchestra, bring alive these old Lata favorites
An excellent recording. Lata is not screeching and the Wren Orchestra never goes overboard. I love the version of "Ahsaan Tera Ho Ga Mujh Par" on this LP, more than the original. You can hear the huskiness in Lata's voice, which only ARR utilized many decades later.
There is a story about how the Royal Albert Hall, London has plotted a graph (on a computer) of all the voices to have ever performed at that venue, and found Lata's voice the "Most Perfect" in the World.
Post MJ and back to my gangsta, ghetto, rap/hip-hop mode. Actually the wife has gone shopping with my mom and sis. They termed it ladies day out so only dad and me at home.
Coming back to the album, another solo effort from a Wu-Tang Clan member and probably the best in terms of a solo effort. Actually anything from Wu-Tang Clan and/or its members is great.
This one came highly recommended as one of the best hip-hop albums and I'd have to agree. Great pairing, both Eric B. & Rakim complement each other very well. Great rhythms and beats, perfect as far as hip-hop goes. Even the scratching of the disc has a rhythm of its own.
A great follow-up album to Paid In Full. The way these two guys sync/perform together in tandem is just amazing. Truly hip-hop never sounded so good as these two made it...
2 great albums from Public Enemy. Probably the band/group that made hip-hop mainstream and are to hip-hop what Rage Against The Machine is to hard rock.
