Its a tough task to locate a seller of F8500 in bangalore....

Modern world on old airport road can source on order, best price depends on your skills ...but highly unlikely below 1.85 to 1.9L

Although i have gone in for the 8500 without a demo ,i can definetly say the 8500 has better PQ then all the other displays i demoed....thanks again

SQ is a known issue on flat panels ,nothing much can be done unless you have separates. As this TV is bought for casual movie veiwing in seperate room (not in my HT) i ordered a Pair of F&D model T-80U ,again based on user reviews.Ordered from snapdeal ,got them connected & now the awesome size/PQ of the 8500 & sound from T-80U speakers surely go very well.

Good going Subhash.
Just don't leave a channel logo or black bars static for more than 30 minutes for some days. If you can change the source to TV for 5 minutes before switching off. The "no signal" noise is good at eliminating any temporary retention problems.

Samsung's PN64F8500 Plasma Crowned King of HDTV by 2014 VE Shootout...!

This makes the Samsung F8500 the first HDTV to ever win the VE Shootout Two Years in a Row, after beating out the amazing Panasonic VT & ZT series in 2013.

The F8500 won with the Highest Overall Average Score giving it the Win, which is amazing considering the placement of the HDTV during the Shootout, in which it was mounted high above the current 2014 lineup consisting of the OLED & UHD 4K sets. This gave the F8500 a clear disadvantage because it has an Anti-Glare Louvered Filter in the Panel which blocks out Ambient Light from above and below to allow for better contrast in bright-room situations. This would take away from the overall peak brightness that the set is capable of delivering.

Still the Audience and Experts both cast their Votes for their favorite HDTV in several categories including: Black Level, Contrast Ratio, Color Accuracy, Motion Resolution (Sharpness), Day Mode and General Content (Video Quality)

All in all i'm very pleased with the results, to know that the F8500 from 2013 was able to beat the best OLED & UHD 4K sets is an amazing task considering that the top UHD 4K was a tv that costs $120,000.00
