Sony Bravia KDL W700B - Buyers Thread

89 degree left/right Does means 178 degree full axis even though it states 178 degree both IPS and VA panel does have color degradation if you see it from the sides unlike plasma TV's. VA Panels has more degradation but excellent black levels when viewed from the center ,while IPS Panels has less degradation but have to compromise a bit on its black levels.

Then why would Sony list 89 degree in some model and 178 degree in other model.

All 'A' series ones have 178 degree while 'B' series ones have 89 degree.

Something which everyone should consider if they are buying for big living room or big family

Guys add me as another buyer of 42w700b .. thanks to forum members..
I got it for 62k from sonepat haryana.. I had no other option he was the only dealer in my city and distributor also.. cudnt get below dat price..

I asked for seal packed and he got me seal packed box in just 2 min..
Right at shop I asked to cjeck usage hours and he opened connected the power and dere it is.. 0 hours and 2 times boot dat too was done by me...

I tried that earlier...could not notice much difference, so resorted back to 50.

Hi Guys,

I set date and time manually and i switch off tv and again if i see date and time i found that it will not stored.i have to set it again.so tv keep it stored whenever it running.once i switch off from power button(not from remote)it's not storing date and time.

I also tried with automatic in automatic it's not taking from d2h.

I have videocond2h

I don't have internet yet.

Guys can you please give your feedback that you all are having a same issue or not.

Just keep VIVID .. and make sure to install latest firmware .. and make sure dishtv signals are good

my tatasky had bad signals .. and pic looked dul before .. now after complaing to tatasky ..they changed wire ..and boom ..superb PIC in vivid mode.. full details.

I bought 32" W700b before 15 days.
I have some issues can anyone having same issue or can you please guide me for that?

1. Sometimes when start tv and i press i+ or options or home button then it's not working.i want switch off the tv and start tv then start then it will work.
sometime when i press home button it shows me please wait but nothing happens.

It takes around 30 seconds to get response from dose home options buttons wen u start the tv.. hdtvtest.com has also pointed it out in their reviews..they referred it to cache thing... so its normal.. and regarding second query idk much...i have not noticed dat date time problem in mine

Hi I tried with laptop to connect with HDMI cable.

But i am also not satisfied with quality of picture. it is not what we expect.

My picture is not blurred but color is not good as we are seeing in HD channels.

Can you please tell me how you connect your pc to tv?

I've been using flat panel TVs as PC monitor for not less than 5-years. I use HDMI to connect my PC to the TV. The picture looks different on PC and needs some time to get used to. Texts might looks blurry if you use Picture Smoother or some settings like that. Turn those off and make sure your Sharpness is set to 0. You don't need that, picture's already crisp. I keep my settings low as it puts a lot of pressure on your eyes if you're working on your PC for 14-16hrs everyday. I've customized settings for normal work, for movies and for games. I suggest you do that too.
