I bought 32" W700B. I'm more than satisfied with the PQ so far. I've watched a lot of HD content through USB and Youtube on the TV. My only concern so far has been the sound, especially vocals. I've tried this on BR Rips, volume between 20-25 is fine for me, But vocals are too low at this volume, if I increase the volume to 30-35 the music becomes too loud ( including the effects like bullet shot, engine sound etc) while vocals remain satisfactory.
I've tried all the sound modes, including cinema, compressed Audio etc but none solves the issue. I hope someone can guide me with sound Calibration settings so as to get the best out of the sound from this amazing TV.

@vineet. If you just want increased vocal clarity, a simple soundbar should suffice.

Is it possible to connect a 2.1 which has 3.5 mm connector and have sound from both TV as well as the 2.1?
As of now, when I connect any sound accessory to 3.5mm jack, it outputs sound only through that accesssory and not through TV.

No. The circuitry will automatically mute the tv speakers. Just curious. Why would would you want to do that?
I don't have much knowledge abt setting up audio systems. I checked out sound bars but they have 3.5mm connectors. Now I just want to know whether , with the help of some 3.5 mm to RCA convertor it is possible to connect a soundbar to this TV? Or I'll have to buy a home theater with RCA connector?

Everyone talks about the Pros of this TV and hardly for Cons. Let me put some of the points which I read from the buyers/owners of 42W700B.
1. Screen Mirroring - Its useless for the iPhone and Samsung phones. Only supports Sony Experia models or any device has NFC.
2. USB Play - above 500 GB its pain to search and watch the muvee from HDD via USB. no folder vice view and sometimes it is not recognising the 1 TB and above HDD.
3. YouTube - No buffering memory available to buffer using YouTube.
4. Sound - so far i have heard not much impression u need separate audio systems.
Please feel free to correct me and update the status on current software has fixed these issues.

-Screen mirroring works via WiFi on Nexus Phones as far as I know (Cast Screen Feature on Nexus)
-You can take advantage of the "Seamless Streaming" feature and set up a USB Pen Drive which acts as a buffer.
I agree with you on 2nd point though. Not having folder wise categorization is a letdown. Secondly, if the hard disk that you connect has lot of other files (small in size like that of documents, presentations, etc ) it takes even longer. Also if you have hard disk dedicated only for storing movies (Like I have) , then its a pain to browse through the whole list. Only workaround I found on this is to copy movies I want to watch on my 16gb USB. Sounds like extra effort but better than having to search from 100's of movies.
I've been fiddling with TV since I bought it on 2nd August. I've got updates twice which i've installed.
I don't know whether this is something due to the update but I found that there is a Folder View option.
To access it, you need to press the OPTIONS button when viewing files from your USB storage device and keep going up until you find the option.
It isn't visible directly as you open the options menu which is why I guess most people miss it.

Band 1 is the left most band in the graphical eq in tv.
Let me know if you have any other audio settings..i'll try them.
I need your help on having a good all purpose color settings. So far i was using the cinema 1 for movie channels and auto for all others.
One gripe so far i have with this tv is that i just can not see my (wd 1tb my passport)hdd content in my tv. I did not try the "folder view" option yet. But the thing is when i connect the hdd the tv just shows the loading sign and it is stuck there forever.:sad:
I don't see a point why the tv tries to filter the whole content in those stupid filters like video, music etc. Just to share my experience, today my parents bought a samsung ua23h4003 tv costing only 12800 inr from khosla electronics, kolkata. And i connected my hdd and boom..within 5 secs tv showd me the whole folders and i smoothly browse through the drove and played my movie...its that simple..why sony with such a high end set did not gave us such a simple option :sad:
Nways..it was a long post...if the new "folder view" opt solves this prob..then gr8..otherwise need you guys help if there is any app for the tv available or any other way to have the tv read the hdd faster.

I have been able to connect to internet and browse, but not able to update the software. i contacted the customer care and they now tell me that i need to have a minimum 2mbps connection for that. anyone else has found the same problem? if 2 mbps is the minimum requirement, isnt it supposed to be in writing somewhere in their website/manual.
2. is there any i can update the software now. currently my package version is 166... recent version is 204. is there any i can upgrade to this. and are there other versions in between which i have to update to first.

has any one tried using laptop as a dlna server to connect to TV. I have tried with my android phone, it works fine. i am able to access photos, videos and music from my phone. but i do the same from my windows 7 laptop,i get UpnP error 716 (media not found).

Bought the 42-inch w700B today. Was kind of an impulse buy after seeing the W60A at a fast food joint recently and getting impressed with the picture quality. Reading the comments in this forum confirmed my decision. Went and got it today due to the festive offer going on. Paid 60k - it is the best price possible I guess over here. Picked up a sealed piece directly from the dealer's godown as delivery would take a couple of days due to backlog (they had sold about 100-150 LEDs the previous day!)
Now need to get it installed and get it calibrated.

You can download it directly at System Software Update (Version PKG2.221GAA) For Asia Pacific : Download : Sony India and extract and transfer the contents to the root folder of the usb drive. Once you plug it in, it will automatically update the software. The link above has the instructions.
