Also, how much did you get the W900B for? Here it is available for 67.5K for 42". I can go for that as well but I don't really think I would be using it for 3D movies even in the next 3-4 years and 42" really is not worth watching 3D in anyway. What are your thoughts on that and what benefits does it otherwise give me for me to shell out more money.

I don't have w900b, i'm still hunting..... i saw the box in a showroom during my recent visit.

Btw, where did u get that price for w900b (67.5k)!!?? all i get the least price is 74k.

And from where u got the w700b? from ur local showroom or online? I'm not fully understand few of ur things that, you have already bought this w700b and thinking to go for w900b. how is it possible for u?

If you have taken in India surely the normal power supply source is provided there and need not worry about DC or AC.

Regarding W900B for the price difference over 700b other than xreality pro you'll get extra MCI 200hz, triluminos display, built-in camera (only works on skype, as i was told in showroom), one-flick remote and 3D. and PQ is better too comparatively.

3D is a personal choice thing whether to go for or not. you have to see for yourself. Many would say for 3D Bigger is better. I dont think so, 3D effect in 42" or in more size tv looks good when you actually sit in standard short distance to tv. Bigger is better for those who have more viewing distance and can't able to adjust their seating position.

Hope you have checked usage hours and found ur piece is a fresh one, if not do it surely (you can browse this or other thread for the same).

I am sorry, the price I have been quoted for W900B is 70.5K(without the DVD player). This is from the Sony shop in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon (2nd Floor).

I got the W700B from the same shop delivered to my house in Gurgaon itself as I am unable to go and get it myself due to injury. Also, let me clarify my situation and sorry for being a little vague in my description above. I had got the TV delivered at my house but the billing had not been done yet, so I still had the option to change if I wanted to. The TV was installed today morning only and the billing shall be done by today evening.

Appreciate your help on the above, but I think I will stick with W700B for the time being as it is an excellent TV and more or less solves the purpose I am going to use it for (read - watching football matches and other sports channels, a few TV series from my PC and PS games which are more or less going to be games like FIFA).

The first thing I checked was the usage hours on the TV and it read 00000-00006-00000, which I think is fine.

Also, does everyone here watch TV with display as stretch so that even Non-HD Channels cover the entire screen?

Congrats mate!!! good choice though, many 700b proud owners are there in this forum.

For your usage it is enough i think.

In my bro house they watch daily soaps/tv serials, etc 4:3 format in stretched mode and dont much bother abt how people or things in the tv look stretched. and even they watch movies also with black bars on top & bottom, where they could zoom them to full screen while keeping horizontal same.

even I have ordered this from snapdeal. expecting it by next week.

I have a DTH home theater from SONY, so the only connection that would go into the TV is HDMI out from the HT unit.

And I have airtel HD set top box with only 6 HD channels activated(star movies, movies now plus, Z studio, NGC, Discovery and H18). This package costs me only 300 Rs a month.

I am currently using the 24 Inch Sony LED (full HD - Ex 430). Once I get the new 42 inch w700, my mind set should change to accept the big display. Because some how the display from the 24 inch is very sharp and I liked it very much (the HD videos). In shops when ever I see the 42 inch TVs, the clarity is not upto my expectation.

Still I have booked this 42 inch, just to upgrade. will update this thread once I start watching the TV, whether it really impressed me or not.

As many of you doubt whether the seller gives the demo piece, even I am scared... as there was a huge discount (got it for 56700 Rs). Hope fully I will use the combination of keys to check the number of hours. What if its more ? should I ask for a replacement. hope fully if seller agrees to give a new one and then remove my first TV, i should be ok.

also the fact about stabilizer is worrying. Is it really needed/worth it. The model of stabilizer am seeing is Vguard (2500 Rs). Still thinking whether to by it...

Thanks. Looks like it is not VESA compliant. Anyway i got a swivel stand from SP road.

I am buying it from Vaishali electronics, He promised to deliver today. I just got the serial number of the TV and picture of box. The box says "Made in Malaysia". Are TV sold in India are Made in Malaysia?

Can you pls share the pics of swivel stand you bought?

i bought the model yesterday and shall i go ahead and open the box without installer since he will come in another two days. And the customer care and dealer is saying go ahead and open use it..

will it be ok? or do i need to strictly wait for the install guy in case any damage or used hours?? advice pls

You can open. If you had seen some unboxing videos it will help you. As there is little care to be taken even in placing the led before fixing the stand

Anyone who has the 700B... or and of the 2014 SONY models... pleas let me know if you have and of these "reverse flashlighting" issues in the bottom corners... particularly the right (at least on mine). What would you do? Return and take a shot at another... or keep this one?

I have this TV now. wonderful TV. but after the latest s/w update my pendrive and the hard disk both are not working. Though the TV detects the devices, it says media player stopped working. Any one else facing this issue? I remember these 2 devices worked just before the software update.
The highlights of the TV for now is the youtube app. its awesome. Plays the videos with potential, and the clarity of internet videos are good.

Other highlights, the responsiveness of the ON OFF is quiet good. Look of the TV is good. TV sound quality for internet/USB videos are great. good connectivity options. I use optical audio for taking the TV sound to the HT. The remote is big and handy.

As such the problems I would say on the USB playability. I have a sony DTH HT, and so I am able to connect the USB/HDD to that and my purpose is resolved. Still I am looking replies from others on issues after the latest s/w update.

Ok... joined this forum recently. Had purchased this TV in June '14 for 64.9K (I think I was ripped off big time looking at prices what others got :sad

Any how... I am a big TV buff... so usage of TV is naturally pretty high. Back in August the TV stopped working one fine day! Concerned we called the Service Centre. The service guys detected some problem with the motherboard and took it with them giving up a replacement TV (a 21" Sony LED) for the meantime . However, a couple of days later they returned saying the problem is in the panel and the board is all right. This time they took the panel. Again one more round and this time they said that definitely the board is faulty. It took a total of around 15 days to get this resolved!! :annoyed:

I was definitely concerned but the service guys said this is a one off problem and others haven't faced it (looking at comments here, seems he was speaking the truth).

The TV has worked fine since then .. fingers crossed :clapping:

My sis has an LG and compared to Sony it reads files in a second. This model is a real pain when it comes to USB drives or external HDD. Since I watch of stuff from the USB this, at times, gets on my nerves

Nevertheless, picture wise I love the TV. Will connect it to my YHT-299 this Saturday and start with a movie marathon :yahoo:

I bought Samsung 32H5100 FULL HD LED TV 5 months back for 34k Rs. 3 months ago a black spot appeared and raised a complaint with Samsung and they replaced the display panel under warranty. A month ago, the same problem occured and now they have agreed to give me a refund (entire amount ).

Now I am looking for a new FULL HD TV. I have shortlisted two TVs now.
