The D6000 is better at 3d,while the EX720 is a slightly better at 2d.
With the samsung the performance depends on what panel you get.

Thank you Adder, But as per the Samsung guy the advantage of C7000 over D6000 is that C7000 has a browser for interent and also converts 2D to 3D... D6000 lacks these two. DO you think that these features would really matter and need to be considered over teh PQ?

Thats false information, the C7000 is a last years model it lacks most of the smart tv features that are present in the D series starting with the D5500 all the way upto the D8000.
Yes the D6000 does have a browser.

NO C series TV had a web browser! D6000 may have it, any C series CAN'T.

@mands
That is not true. Both C7000 and D6000 have Smart TV feature. And D6000 also has 2D to 3D converter.
What are your requirements ? Is 3D performance more important than 2D ? IF 3D is not that important then I would recommend EX720, otherwise get D6000.

Only last month I bought 55d8000 after lot of research and demos. My suggestion is , go for the cheaper option as 'SMART TV' is just a gimmick.

Honestly, the web browser is so slow that it will remind you of school days where a website used to take couple of minutes to load. Also, there is no other useful smart tv content aavailable in India currently (VoD, streaming) so you can not use this for viewing/downloading content. Yes, if you are dying to play basic games (tetris type) or access facebook on your TV, then you might consider this. But trust me, facebook access is much easier on your laptop or even mobile, as even in facebook you have to type with the awful TV remote which is extremely frustrating.

Yes, picture quality on D-series is very good, but those are only noticeable for Blu raye discs and SD video will surely look blurred in all TVs.

Finally on 2D to 3D conversion, its a waste of time (even all the reviewers say so) based on my experience. The conversion just dont look 3d...simply put. LG is good in that case with their passive 3D, although even that was not immersive 3d. After first few hours of trying, I have not yused this feature in last one month I am sure I wont use this ever. Real 3d is better though on D series, although not free from flickering and ghosting problems.

So overall, I would suggest you to go for a TV which you think offers best value and PQ, but you can definitely avoid 'SMART' functionalities..based on my experience.

Samsung D6600 is better in 2D and 3D than D6000 and EX720
Samsung D6000 matches in 2D and better 3D than EX270
EX720 has fantastic 2D but rotten 3D. In fact not worth paying extra for the 3D on this display.

Am not quite sure of Samsung panel lottery. Adder is expert of it.

I have a strange problem with my 40EX720 TV while playing blue ray discs with the sony BD player. The picture kind of moves very fast in a jumping frames kind of a way instead of smooth transitions from one frame to another. What should be done to correct this, I am sure its got to do with some setting on the TV or the BD player. Had connected the same to Pana V20D before and never faced this issue.

Thats a funny way of trying ;) You need to try 2D to 3D conversion instead, otherwise even through 3D glasses you would get distorted image.. Vertical and Horizontal are 2 different ways of Side by Side 3D..

Got my 32EX720 from S'pore. Also got 2 Sony 3D glasses free with it. Quite happy with PQ. Still playing with settings to improvise. I selected the vivid setting and then tweaked that setting. Very good PQ. With Sound Enhancer on the sound also shows an improvement as compared to the 'Off' setting. No clouding perceived. Haven't tried the 3D so far because I don't have any 3D content as of now. All my movies that I play through my Seagate HD media player look much better than the CRT TV I used before.

One drawback as far as viewing the digital pictures though is that unless the file names are in the standard Sony format, you will not have a slide-show. I had to manually click the next button on the remote to go through the picture set. I didn't mind this because it gives me as much time as I wish for a picture. Because there are pictures one wishes to see for a longer duration and there are pictures you wish to simply pass.

tkrishnan has mentioned other relevant points so no need to go through them.

If anyone would share the settings, that'd be welcome.

How does one connect EX720 to the internet if one has BSNL Dataone connection? With a wifi dongle EX720 will be on wifi. But to connect to the internet it also needs to authenticate PPPoE credentials. Any help is appreciated.

Question about clouding - I normally can't detect clouding on my 720 until it switches into 3d mode and there is momentarily a dark screen when it is VERY cloudy... Is this normal?

Does anyone have any hands on experience with this TVs 3D capability with a PS3, 3D Movies/Games?
Is it really as bad as people make it out to be?
