The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread!

So 50ST60 is likely to priced around 90-100k. Not bad considering it is the same price band 50ST50 retailed last year.

65VT60 is likely to be competing 64F8500 at around the same price range of 1.8 lacs to 2 lacs.

1.8 lacs for 65VT60 sounds to good to be true

Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

Samsung 64F8500 not available for demo whenever I inquired. I guess it will have to be a blind buy.

I was quoted 1.85L in store. That guy said he'll reduce further. Group buy is not necessary but, as I said, more the merrier.

Mumbai people intereste can PM me.

Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

Price (MRP) of 65VT60 is likely to be Rs. 3.5 lakhs. It will sell around for just over 3L. That is, if the model gets launched and sold in India.

I think one can sell his stocks and get this plasma. After all we only invest in stocks for decent rate of returns. One could get the same joy with this set equivalent to ones stock multiplying 4 times in one year.:licklips:

F5500 is little higher in price and I am getting E550 for 59 grands is it worth to buy ?

That is quite natural. The 51E550 was retailing around 78k till a couple of months ago before the 2013 model F5500 was released. Old model makes way for new and hence the price drop to clear stock. I would say that if you get a fresh/non-display piece, the E550 a better deal over the latest F5500. There is not going to be day/night difference between the two; more like dawn and sunrise.

Sorry guys, I mean to Say 65ST60 for 1.8 to 2 lacs and not 65VT60. I think they are unlikely to launch the 65" VT series in India. In fact, I will be pleasantly surprise if they launches the same. BTW, it is better not to launch a 65" plasma, which costs more than 3 lacs. They will rarely sell. I think the threshold for such display is around 2 lacs.

Just checked out the 50" S60 at the Panny store in Koramangala. Liked the picture quality, but the panel was too reflective for my taste. Price seems to be good though at 85k. A side-by-side comparison with the LED LCD panels there just shows how much better a plasma is in the PQ department. There's just no comparison. But saw the Sony W950 after this and gotta say that it comes pretty darn close to a plasma.

The ST60 is expected in a month's time according to the salesman. Can't wait to see it.

Strangely ,cnet gives a 5 star to st60 and 4 stars to vt60 and zt60.
It says that st60 is more affordable and at the same time almost same in PQ as that of its brothers.
And it seems it is brighter than vt60/zt60.
I just want to see how it fares with sammy f8500

The only caveat is 3d which is not as good as st50.
