The 65VT30 is THX certified while the 65ST50 is not. The VT is normally a higher series. Both are available with certain dealers and not with others.

I know that VT series TV is supposed to be better but there is huge jump in quality on the ST50 that makes it at par with VT30. I mean on the panel itself there is a huge difference. Add far as thx is concerned, I was comparing the thx mode in GT50 and felt that its pq could be achieved in the non-thx ST50or at least it was not a convincing argument in favour of dolling out more cash.

Hi aakashr, I'm considering this TV as i cant find any reviews of 43f4100 online. From the specs it looks that these two are the same (one is US model): Samsung 43F4900 Plasma TV | Samsung 43 inch Black Plasma TV and Specs - Plasma TV PN43E450A1F | Samsung TVs.

Do you think so as well?
Any comments about the life of this samsung? It's a bit over my budget but I can spend as I'm totally sold (in general) on the PQ of plasma as opposed to LED / LCD.

2012 : E450 / E470 / E490
2013 : F4100 / F4500 / F4900

F4100 - EDTV, would not recommend due to lower resolution
F4500 - not launched in India
F4900 - excellent vfm, the best tv at the price

I just got the F4900 recently for my brother, if you need any details let me know. No reviews yet because they are new, give it some time and I am sure reviews will follow. However the F series replace the older E series which has won very good reviews.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. So I'm clear about the model and that it *should* be better than the E450 which has got rave reviews in the link that I posted (and 100+ reviews). Any opinion how long the TV would last? Someone in the panasonic brandshop here in Noida told us a horror story (on this thread) today, that put my folks off the idea of plasma. Will have to convince them about it.

Also, what kind of warranty did you get there and is it worth extending the warranty for this model?

I joined the forum recently. Want to buy 51 inches F8500 in Pune. I called Rahul Electronics Mumbai. He took the enquiry but never called back if they had the model in stock.

Any information on the availability of 51" F8500 in Pune (or Mumbai/Bangalore)..

If 51" F8500 is not available then will have to go for 51" F5500 i think.. I also didn't find any in-depth reviews for 51" F5500 online..

Any recommendation on where to buy 51" F5500 in Pune..

I think that this is a duplicate post. aakashr replied to your other post. But never mind.

- I don't think that F8500 plasma is launched in 51" size in India
- You can consider 51F5500 which will be a notch below
- Or, I suggest that you wait for some time to verify what Panasonic will do
- The Panasonic 50ST60 will be the best TV in the 50" segment; much better than 51F5500

As to regards, on where to buy, you should check in the manufacturer showrooms. Multi-brand showrooms generally keep quick selling LEDs more in stock but you could check. Maharashtra Electronic Corp, Croma, Reliance Digital are known to keep one or two plasma models whereas Vijay Sales is not so and even if they (VS) do, they keep the very low end models. But making a visit is prudent.

I think presently we can base the assumption purely on the reviews st60 received.
Once it is released it will be there for everyone to see and judge whether st60 is really worth.

No problems at all. My inference is as under:

- I have seen the F5500. It is a very good successor to the E550 which I consider equivalent to UT50
- The ST50 is better than F5500 based on what I saw; F5500 has more reflective surface too
- The ST60 is reportedly better than ST50

So what does that tell anyone?

I am not part of any groupism here, but what I can say is that I haven't seen just4kix being biased either for or against a particular brand. My only concern is - Any friction creating posts might spoil the thread.
