As of today, Samsung has announced the F8500 plasma in 64" size only. It is unlikely that 51" will be launched in India, but you can never know. If they see demand/inquiries, they may launch it. A letter/mail to Samsung may help.

Highly unlikely. I tried all I can to find out before getting my 64f8500.
Your choices are to increase ur budget and get 64f8500 or 51f5500. What is your viewing distance?

My viewing distance will be about 14 feet, will it be an overkill if I go for a 64f8500? Its way out of my budget, but will stretch it and get one if it won't look bad.

I am graduating from a 29 inch Onida CRT. :ohyeah:

At 14 feet, 64" is not bad but good. What is bad is the money required.

Hahhaha.. trying to sell one of my kidney's to graduate from 51 to 64" to make up for the money;)

on a serious note, will SD content look bad on a 64" screen. that is one of my major concerns?

Usually plasmas make the SD watching much bearable than leds. That is my practical experience.

Let me walk into a nearby Samsung Store to check how SD content looks in 64F8500. If it ain't bad, then will take out a small loan to pick it up,,, :) Keeping fingers crossed

In plasma category, you could go for Samsung 51F5500 (72K or thereabout) or wait for Panasonic 50ST60 (should be near 1L). Or, you can sell your kidney.

Generally, the bigger the TV size, the more artifacts that you will see. Because everything will be zoomed.
