The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread!

VGuard Crystal Plus (3A) says upto 46" LCD / LED. It's like 140-150W for 50" LED while 50" plasma will have 370-380W :'(

Then again it's a voltage stabilizer, don't have to worry about wattage, right ?

Great Eastern have 50ST60 in stock. They quoted me 1L on phone so I think the price can come down to 97-98K if negotiated well. Anyone interested, can contact this person

Nahi yaar, I just updated that info for other members looking for ST60 in Kol. My replacement will come from Panasonic. I just wanted to know if Panasonic had that in stock so called stores and they said they can get me ST60 from Panasonic in sealed pack and not demo unit within 2 days so Panasonic have that in stock at their warehouse. While Panasonic is delaying my replacement saying stock will come after Durga Puja, Diwali and now after 20-22 days. I'll call them today and ask for refund if they can't give me within next week.

Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

That's true.

Please do mention that this particular dealer has it in stock. And it's shame that Panasonic did not have this in their warehouse.

Also post this in Panasonic Facebook page. Now most of the brands are paying high attention to issues posted in FB.

Talked to Panasonic Regional Head, he said that they'll replace the mainboard of my TV and will send me the replacement within few days. Seems like they'll provide that model to someone else. :'(

May be off the topic.. But just wanted to check with you guys.

When CNet gives its rating, what i could find was..they are mostly going towards the concept of "Value for Money".
"Performance delivered Proportionate to the money customer have to shell out to own"

If Sony W900 is rated at 4star for its performance considering high 3,200$..If the same product is available for half the price say $1,600 then for the customer point of view it will it be equal to 5star rating Only rt?

You are absolutely right.
I have not read about w900 on cnet but it was given 4 stars on whathifi because they say that it has unnatural colours. The blue sky clour was like a proprietary Sony color.
Rather than the stars we should think about the negetive points. If one is ok with them then any tv is a 5 star.

Could anyone suggest a good voltage stabilizer for 50" plasma.

^ have you got your TV ? I'm also looking for a stabilizer.

I did not receive mine yet. If you decide any stabilizer, please suggest me also. I want arrange everything before "the Tv" arrived. :)
Btw.. I was going through AVSforum and find that one D-nice panel prep slide and setting is good for North american st60. Lots of people praise D-nice.
Is it good for Indian model? Did anybody use it?

I think I'll go with the V-Guard Crystal Plus stabilizer. Talked to Panasonic today and they told me that they have 4-5 orders for ST60 and they're hoping for those to arrive at their warehouse in next few days. They've been saying that from last month.

About the DNice panel prep slides, I'm not sure if they're OK to run on our ST60D models although it's for the Reference settings which we have too. Will research and report :)

unnatural colours in w900 , you must be joking. If ur an ordinant fan of plasma that is ok understandable. But you are kidding about flagship model with triluminous display which has best black levels for a led tv.I have been watching for last five months.I see sky colour as it is.dont see any diff though.

When u play blurays on any full hd tv , the pictures will be gorgeous what is the hi point here. When the company itself shutting its plasma wing, is it good to recommend panasonic plasmas? i dont think so.

Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

If anybody wants to see how the st60 dishes out pictures, have a look at the following link. I am sure you will run to your nearest panasonic dealer.

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1475972/official-panasonic-st-gt-vt-zt60-pictures-thread

Yet to see this model available locally, still no confirmation from the Panasonic brandshop when it will be in stock again. Hopefully some day it will, good luck to those who get their hands on one. The size i wanted would never hit Indian shores so i booked the 64F8500.

I was quoting whathifi review there. It said the colours were unnatural.
I don't know what it means to be ordinant fan of plasma. Does it mean plasma fanboy? If it means that then definitely I am one.
Btw I am a big fan of Sony.
It is like this for me. If a tv is really good, it gets same level of accolades from one and all review houses, right from cnet, whathifi, avforums to digitaltrends.com.
And st60 is said to be really really good by all of them. Even if one of them has a different opinion then there is something to think about.
Just go to reviewed. com and see the video showing w900 zt60 f8500 side by side playing the same hidef video. Anybody can easily make out who is the best.
And regarding panasonic shutting down business, I feel it is time to buy the last great plasmas like st60. Once we keep thinking pros and cons, we will never be able to buy this great plasma.
All bluray images on all high def tvs are not same. That's the reason of buying highly priced w900 right?

Well on reviewed.com the best plasma for 2013 is ZT60 and runner up is F8500 . Post that under Mid range the next best is ST60 and then the F5500 series.

As ZT60 will never come to India F8500 is the best bet.
If you are unable to get your hands on the ST60 then the next best option is the F5500 series from Samsung.

So there should not be any confusion which Plasma tv to go for based on availability.
The sequence is given below.

ZT60>F8500>ST60>F5500
