The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread!

Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

But cnet has given both f8500 and st60 same points 9.0
Why is that hdtvtest or avforums did not give reference status to f8500?
A lower end gt60 could get it and also becomes best plasma for 2013 at whathifi.com.
Why is that these review houses praise f8500 but shy away from giving reference status though it is sharper and brighter than others?
In the review of the oled s9, they purposefully keep f8500 by the side of s9 and show at reviewed.com.
And my God f8500 looks yuck before s9.
One can see it for themselves.
The order should be zt60> vt60>st60, f8500.
Look at the pictures of st60 in the link. Kuro too looks less juicy than it.
I am just wondering how would the zt60 be..God of plasma

ZT60 would never hit the shores of India,so one can only enjoy reading the reviews and look at sample shots. Guess the technology is evolving fast and in next couple of years we would have even better tv's getting launched.

Each site has their own review and rating method, guess the ratings would vary. If Panasonic moves out of Plasma then only Samsung and LG would be left in the market. Samsung may exit too later on if they feel they are not selling many sets as they already have captured a good market share on LED and LCD's.

I did not receive mine yet. If you decide any stabilizer, please suggest me also. I want arrange everything before "the Tv" arrived. :)
Btw.. I was going through AVSforum and find that one D-nice panel prep slide and setting is good for North american st60. Lots of people praise D-nice.
Is it good for Indian model? Did anybody use it?

Have you got your ST60 yet ?

Latest update, spoke to Panasonic brandshop they said no more plasmas for India. So better start chasing them for your replacement. This particular brandshop has even sold the Plasma it had in display and have only the 50S60 stock left.

How's Samsung E8000 series ??

You have been waiting for a long time now, why not push them for a refund and buy something else from the market. As looking at the current scenario maybe they are unable to give a replacement soon.

chances of plasma replacement are very bleak now. ET60/DT60 series LEDs are what you can look at.

After having plasma, I can't go to LED. I've checked ET and DT, didn't impress me. :'(

I'll talk about refund and go for Samsung Plasma if they couldn't promise anything.

No. Actually I paid them on 21st. They said I will receive it around 05th to 10th Dec.

I am thinking of running Dnice setting for 1st 100 hrs and then i will use dnice setting. If I don't like the setting I will change it to another setting, but I think running the slide to age phosphorus evenly will not hurt the TV itself.
Any suggestion?

After reading all the posts here, I have been waiting around for the last many days to get a possible demo and availability of the Panasonic 50ST60 which from what I hear truly seems the best TV to have been sold in India yet!

But finally, after waiting in vain for the Panasonic 50ST60, I feel it may not become available at all and my choice has zeroed down to

Samsung 51F5500

Panasonic P50S60D.

Getting a demo of these 2 is also not so easy though.

I am going to Reliance Digital Infinity Mall tomorrow to demo the Samsung (All Reliance Stores have it in stock but none except this have it in display)

The Mulund Panasonic Brand Shop seems to have the 50S60D in display too.

So Guys, what suggestions between the Samsung 51F5500 & Panasonic P50S60D now? :)

Thanks!

You get the demo first and then decide. I think the last batch of ST60 is coming this DEC '13 so you can wait a bit too before making the purchase.

Similar case everywhere. I am from kolkata and could not find a place to demo ST60 or even s60, not even in brandshop. they have X60 in display. I brought ST60 blindfolded based on different review and suggestion from forum members.
I wanted to buy a plasma as did not like led, as in led I notice some watercolor effect (as if faces are painted with water color, i don't know actual term) in high end leds also with HD channel on. I quite like picture in X60 compare to some similar or high priced leds, so I thought and as everyone say picture in ST60 miles superior from X50. Even I find some Ut30 series also in display, and there picture is also OK.

I was planing to buy around next march, but as plasma production is closing nxt month, I thought maybe dealers will not able to deliver it anymore, so I take my chance before ST60 become extinct. I do not receive my tv yet, but I am keeping my finger crossed that I took a good decision.

:'( Whatttttt ?

Yes, this is what happened at the Panasonic brandshop here in Bangalore, They had taken bookings for ST60, but now they have cancelled them and refunded the amount. Don't know about other cities. As long you have the stock pick it up.

It was expected they don't have plasma in stock to offer to customer. From where will they offer it as replacement, they were bound to offer LED in replacement. Better to get a refund and take another new plasma while its still there in the market.
