The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread!

Now I am running Dnice slides after watching for 5 hours. Does anyone tried D-Nice's slides on s60 before? My pixel orbiter is auto, but I observe there is around 3mm black border around edge of the screen.

And please suggest me a voltage stabilizer. I was going for V guard crystal plas, but in flipkart is says tv upto 46 inch led.

Good to hear that you're enjoying your S60. I think that voltage stabilizer will work just fine or get an inverter.

About my case, I don't think Panasonic is getting anything anytime sooner so I tweeted to Panasonic India / Sarthak Seth / Manish Sharma / Daizo Ito. Let's see what happens. So far, I've got this reply "@PanaSuckzz We understand your situation, T.N. With @PanasonicIndia's support, we will try to resolve it as soon as possible. Thanks."

Thanks anubisX.
In your case hoping for the best. Why they don't provide you a S60? Its better Tv than XT50 - 3d.

I am running Dnice slide and can't resist to watch movies also, so watched "The Hobbits" 1st part in 2.4Gb BDRip today, Looked awesome on the TV. I have a feeling that TV's picture is improving Day by day.

They wanted to give me S60 but I wanted something with 3D capability as I have lots of 3D Blu-Rays to watch. They're coming to tomorrow to my place to check the problem.

About playing subtitles, do you use PC / Laptop for movies or external HDD / flash drive for playing movies on your S60 ? If you use PC / Laptop then you can just add a SRT file to the same folder the movie is in. Same goes for external devices.

No need to worry about it, they'll give you support as long as you're under warranty. If they couldn't, they'll get it replaced with LED or you can opt for refund.

I am using pen drive, .srt file with same name is in the same folder, As I am running in my pc using VLC.

Seems like you've to hard-sub the movie and then you'll have subtitles. Or you can just play the movies on your PC or Laptop connected to your S60.

I am looking to buy the Panasonic 50S60 plasma in Pune, but looks like the stocks have dried up. The Panasonic brand shop in Baner seems to be the only place where stock is available and they are not ready to go below 79K :(

They are making money while it lasts. Not many pieces left so guess they have monopoly and will not lower the price.

Panasonic is dry, they don't have anything over 42" at this moment. It's not the plasma they're getting out of, it's the whole display manufacturing they're getting out of.

Re: The 2013 Plasma Discussion Thread! [Updated with Information]

Guys. I am just 2 days away from owning 60zt60. My friend in Austin would first get it delivered to his house from Amazon.
He would test the panel thoroughly. If any defect is found, he will get a replacement there itself. If everything is OK he will send it to the courier guys to ship it to hyderabad.
So I won't be having any DOA issues here.
He works with a set top box manufacturing company, and his daily business also includes testing the tvs with the set top box. So I am very confident that he will know all issues before the TV is shipped here.

The problem is not US to US, it's about US to India. What if it comes DOA to India even if it passed OK at USA ?

So this is the US model which will need converters and step-down transformer as well? Or is there a way of sourcing models with PAL tuner from US?

TC-60AS660U series: 1080p, Home Theater System Bundle; Touch Pad Remote
It seems Panasonic is bundling a home theater system with this single-size series. We'll try to get more information at the show. Otherwise, it appears very similar to the A650U.
Size: 60 inches

TC-AS530U series: 1080p, Cheapest Smart TV
The entry-level Smart TV doesn't have the My Stream action of the step-up models, but could prove a good value if the price is right.

TC-A400U series: Entry-level 1080p
The final series is a dumb TV, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Again, if priced right it could be worthwhile.
