Watched The Spanish Prisoner

Story centered on a relentless cat's cradle of a business scam, the picture is a devilishly clever series of reversals that keeps you guessing to the very end. Watched : The Last Emperor

Story : The movie is a biopic of Henry Puyi, considered as China's Last Emperor. He was crowned when he was just 3 years old. At the same time, the imperial system was declining at the birth of the Chinese Republic. Oh well, he could do everything just inside the Forbidden City.

He was educated by an English teacher named Johnston, portrayed well by Peter O'toole. As a young boy he wanted to travel the world...but he's trapped within the walls of the palace. And time passed...history changed the course of his future.

Watched : Tess by Roman Polanski

Fantastic film. Tess is the name of a novel written in the late 19th century by a British author Thomas Hardy. This dramatic novel was masterfully directed by Polanski.

The summary of this film is simple: it all starts in the heart of Victoria's reign, in the south of England, in the county of Dorset. The village pastor announced after genealogical research, he discovered a local farmer, John Durbeyfield, descended from a noble family of Norman origin, arrived at the same time that William the Conqueror. The farmer, troubled by these discoveries pastor tries to take his daughter Tess of this alleged descent and sends in a wealthy family named D'Urbervilles. Unfortunately, the son of the family seduced Tess, rapes and returns to her parents, pregnant ... Her baby died shortly after birth. This first part of the film as the novel is intensely dramatic, and the freshness of the actress Nastasia Kinski, who holds the title role, gives a lot of emotion in this film.

A very good Comedy/Drama movie. Story is good about teacher/student relation supported by good performances by the actors. Cinematography is very good.

A very interesting Drama/Romance movie. The story is really good about the lives of several people in New York intertwine over the course of New Year's Eve. Casting is good on this movie, and every actor has performed very well. Worth a watch.




Samsara [2011]

A good sequel Photographic movie. I personally like Baraka to this. This movie is more of e-commerce and day-to-day activities related as opposed to to Baraka which was more of nature, but none the less the time lapse scenes are very well done. Worth a watch, and watch on a Bluray, (avoid 720p's)

Vishwaroopam (2013) - IMDb - Nice watching Kamal back in action after a few years. Move is good... well its not excellent and certainly not his best work but its not bad or shabby in anyway to make you want to leave the theater.

PS - Don't see what the controversy was about either.

A time pass Action/Drama movie. The story is not so impressive, and so is Daniel Craig's performance (Casino Royale was the best IMO), on the other hand Javier Bardem's performance in a negative role was good. Cinematography is really good and the first action scene was well done.



Argo [2012]

A very good Action/Drama movie, based on true events. Nice performance/direction by Ben Affleck. Cinematography and Background score is good. Nice performance by the supporting actors also. Worth a watch.
