The Movies I Liked

Hodejegerne (2011) - IMDb - Wow... thanks to @rraghuram for the recommendation. Headhunters starts off like a heist movie, or at least about an art thief, but in reality it's also a love story - of Aksel Hennie and Synnve Macody Lund.

The premise is simple, a headhunter also moonlights as a thief to support his lavish lifestyle, but his latest victim (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau - yes the GOT guy) turns out be "more bitten off than can be chewn" who is a former mercenary and now out to get revenge on the thieves. Thus ensues a game of cat and mouse with thrilling action sequences and suspenseful moments.

Highly recommended, Headhunters is worth your time, and entertainment the likes of which Hollywood cannot give you anymore.

Yes, awesome movie..Watched already...You may try Norwegian thrillers:)

The Getaway (1972) - IMDb - Another Peckinpah goodie. Steve McQueen is all machismo, and Ali MacGraw is the hottie. They play a married couple/bank robbers with Steve McQueen in the prison serving a 10 year sentence. It's upto Ali MacGraw to get him out on parole by striking up a deal with bad men and once out Steve McQueen has to repay the debt by robbing another bank.

Pretty much non-stop action with Hollywood tough guy Steve McQueen doing a great job and ably supported by Ali MacGraw. Highly recommended for the tough guy action that you don't get to see anymore, as it's all replaced by CGI these days.

Oops......Not watched this movie...Thanks for suggestions:clapping:

Don't miss this... Steve McQueen's Papillon (1973)

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) - IMDb - I liked it. Not a great movie, but a good action thriller that will entertain just about anybody. Good action, good CGI, excellent photography (or CGI), and pretty good audio FX make this an enjoyable watch on the home theater.

Haven't really seen much of Charlie Hunnam (other than recently in Cold Mountain), but he does a good job here, and along with Jude Law keeps us entertained for the entire duration of the movie. Djimon Hounsou, Eric Bana, Aidan Gillen, Annabelle Wallis, and Katie McGrath are totally wasted. But other than that it's an enjoyable action romp that's worth the 2 hours.

The Lost City of Z (2016) - IMDb - Another Charlie Hunnam movie, but one that's entirely different and of a different pace and based on real life events. It's the story of British explorer Percival Fawcett, who disappeared in 1925 while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon jungle.

Charlie Hunnam does a decent job and is supported by Sienna Miller and Robert Pattinson, but the movie itself is tedious and dreary, and not in the least intending to reach any epic levels that it promises based on it's premise. The story itself is rather limited, we get to see Percy Fawcett on 3 expeditions, but nothing much happens in them other than a couple of incidents of tribals shooting arrows and spears. More time is wasted on Percy's military career, both in the beginning and the incidents surrounding World War 1.

Could have been an epic, but comes out a dreary and overtly long attempt at a jungle adventure.

The Wall (2017) - IMDb - An ok movie, not that great. The problem is there is very little action or even drama/intrigue. It's a long drawn out dialog about America and it's presence in the middle east between a US soldier and a sniper who is holding him and his partner hostage. It's an ok movie, but be warned it's more on dialogue and less on action.

The one saving grace is the ending... chilling. But overall disappointing especially when you consider it's from Doug Liman, the man who gave us some thrilling action movies in the past.
