Thats due to the atrocious pricing and availability on limited pincodes.

Hi guys, I'm not sure if there is even a solution here, but what happens if say 3-4 years down the line the TV remote breaks or stops working? I think this TV has a bluetooth remote, but will it work with another universal remote? Are replacement remote available?
It's a standard IR remote, so you can easily find a replacement universal remote. My Xbox(inbuilt IR transmitter) is able to control all functions without any issues. It automatically detected the TV remote code.

I was going through some reviews of H8F and reviewers say it has 240 motion rate... No idea what they are talking about. We do get 60HZ panel here rt?

BTW one of the reviewers (AV journo) mentioned that Theater day and night are the most accurate modes on this TV :)

They are the most accurate but still not quite there. However, the white balance is off on even them. Mine was a bit too warm and actually looks worse than the standard mode(standard mode has other issues), which I hate since everything becomes yellowish especially in bright room. It's the best preset if you don't want to modify anything, but if you're willing to modify settings, you can make the image look a lot better and make it pop a lot more too.

Ah, thanks for that. Also, there's the RemoteNow app on play store in which you have the full remote (plus your phone's keyboard) to use and control the TV. I guess I shouldn't worry too much.

What are you using to calibrate the TV?

What are you using to calibrate the TV?

My eyes lol. I'm very sensitive to white balance and have high-end OLED phones with calibrated and known white points. Once you've got the white balance down, the rest is fine and just go with whatever your eyes like and your room ambient light is like.

Remember, nothing is accurate in every scenario. Even a 100% calibrated display with 0 dError will be inaccurate in a real world scenario as the display gets desaturated due to ambient light. The accurate modes are accurate only in pure dark room with no ambient light and at a pre-set brightness level. That's why dolby vision IQ(upcoming tech) is based on ambient light and adjusts your white point and colours based on that.

For a brighter room, you need a slightly cooler white point and slightly higher colour saturation. I generally go for something in between the accurate mode and the standard mode, so it's moderately accurate in both low and high ambient light scenarios rather than being completely accurate in one and look like trash in the other.

How can we have a sticky post for the readings? I mean a one stop static post in which we can have our modes and settings listed for everyone to use those as reference points. Can the thread starter edit the first post and paste the recommended settings? Going through 10 pages and searching for it becomes a pain

If they owned Sharp, how could Sharp sue itself?
I never said they owned Sharp. Its clear from the quote that it was a licensing deal. Hence, Sharp could sue them.
As for Hisense's ownership comment, they have bought out entirely or divisions of many companies over the years. That's what I was referring to.

I don't get any prompt when I play HDR content through Youtube, Disney+, or Prime Video signaling that the content is being played in Dolby Vision or HDR10. The only thing that changes is the picture settings. Do get any prompt on playing dolby digital content?
I couldn't try DolbyDigital in Netflix since my plan is limited to HD will upgrade and tell how it acts on it.

PS - I am using Firestick 4K to test it

Yes, there is no prompt but the picture mode changes. You'll know by pressing the menu button and going to picture menu. This is an older version of the OS. It's possible they'll add the prompt with an update.

The prompts are there with the in built media app. Play something from your PC via DLNA and play a Dolby digital audio/HDR 10 video it's shown above with a prompt.

I could not find a way to edit my first post let me know if there is a way to do that

Yes, I noticed when a played HDR video via DLNA the internal media player did show HDR prompt. But I haven't been able to get Dolby Vision work in Firestick 4k. Disney+ have The Mandalorian in Dolby Vision but somehow it defaults to HDR10 as picture setting reflects so. So I am still unsure about Dolby Vision working through external devices. Leaving aside, I am impressed by what this set provides in terms of picture quality under 45k. The local dimming algorithm serves it purpose in 90% of cases baring some extreme stress cases like starfield or the video linked here where blooming can be seen. But in majority of real scenes it works fine 95% of times. Brightness is also sufficient and parents won't like a more brighter TV:D. Motion is it's weak point and it stutters here and there and majorly in panning scenes. Colors I am not able to set it perfectly to my taste. Can you share your HDR and SDR setting, I tried some changes but couldn't settle on one. Infact I think we should create a separate thread dedicated to U7890 members sharing their settings and find the best setting possible since in India it's near impossible to get your set calibratedhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mandalorian

I can confirm, Firestick 4k plays Netflix's Dolby Vision content since I switched to UDH plan. And even the Disney+ does too. Tried to launch The Mandalorian and it came up with Dolby Vision logo.
