Listened to 'Auto Raaja'. A rare combination of Ilaiyaraaja & Shankar-Ganesh in one album. 3 good songs in this LP.

Baalu Mahendra happened to hear the "Sangathil Paadatha kavithai " from Auto Raaja and asked Raaja to put the same tune for his Malayalam Movie "Oolangal".. and ever green hit "Thumbee Vaa Thumba kudathil" had born....

Just listened to this 2 R D Burman Tamil OST LPs. Seems like these are the only R D Burman albums ever got released in Tamil language. Not sure if the songs are fresh compositions or just reused from some Hindi film.

1) Poo Mazhai Poziyuthu - Songs are very good
2) Ulagam Piranthathu Enakaga - okay but not great

Now listening to LP that has songs from couple of Modern Theatres movies 'Ethirigal Jakkirathai' & 'Karunthel Kannayiram'. Music by Vedha & Shyam respectively. Seems like few R D Burman tunes are copied and one of them that I could recognize is the famous 'Aaja Aaja' from 'Teesri Manzil'.

Just finished listening to 'Yaro Azhaikirargal'. Definitely one of the best albums composed by Shankar-Ganesh. Three very nice songs rendered by P Jayachandran which had frequent plays in Ceylon radio during the 80s.

Thanks for recalling. Just listened/watched to the Malayalam song in Youtube after long time. Amazing that the song is set entirely in a different context from the Tamil version even though the tune is same.

The description to Youtube video says it was first made in Malayalam and later reused in other languages. Is it so?

Once in a while we got gems from Shankar-Ganesh. I have the 45RPM LP of 'Thai Veedu'. Couple of other songs also are good in this.
