Vinyl I am listening to...

Surendar,

I shouldn't comment on quality of songs, as each of us has a particular liking. But the following records have great sound quality:
Angan Ki Kali
Alibaba aur 40 Chor
Ahsaas
Lovers
Mazdoor
Qayamat (do not miss this one - one of the best in 45 rpm LP)
Romance
Shama
Tohfa

The following are next in line:
Aasha
Amar Akbar Anthony
Samraat
Parvarish
Inquilab
Krodhi

I did not get the name APEN (of Bappi Lahiri). Is there such a soundtrack?

I do not know whether you are getting the first pressings of the old titles (from the fifties or sixties). Because most of the reissues have just ok sound quality. However, the quality of the songs might appeal to you, as the lyrics were good and the tunes used to be mostly melodious.

Hope this helps
Atanu

Hi Atanu,

Thanks so much for the suggestions.

I need to check on the title 'APEN'. It might be a typo in the list. The person who is offering to sell these does not have much knowledge on records. So not sure if the old titles are first pressings or not. But all are in NM condition.

Regards

Hi Hiten

All those logos were operational in specific time periods. For example the Full Color Nipper was operational between late 73 and 77. They mostly had catalogue starting with EALP for Hindi films. So a Aap Ki Kasam or a Mili/Chupke Chupke or a Majboor first press is a full color Nipper label. The black color Nipper was introduced in late 1975. Normally had catalogue starting with ECLP. Aandhi was released in 75/76 but had the black color Nipper since it was on ECLP series. The second Angel logo in your thread was used for re presses of certain original Angel titles like Anita, Do Raaste, Gumnaam etc. These were operational till early 80s. I have no idea why they used this logo. Titles with this logo were never first presses

Souravin, the first lp I purchased some 4 years back when I got into vinyl was Yaadon Ki Baarat. It happened to be a first press in nm condition but in those days I had no idea about about first presses:)

Thanks Prem for the information.

My guess is the movies you mentioned had significant time period between first and second pressing. And may be since they were second pressing and by the time other movie titles were already on third/fourth pressing so not to create confusion about second pressing they used earlier lable design.

Lucky you Prem. YKB songs are of longer duration in LP than the ACD. That is a good part.
