Vinyl I am listening to...

Hi Mahiruha,

Bou Katha Kou has that gem of a song "Ki Hobe Aar Purano Diner Kotha Aaj Tule." Pancham is fantastic. The album also has another Pancham solo, plus six Asha solos, including bou katha kou. An excellent album.
Will wait to see the back cover uploaded here. Otherwise, I will share the scan.

Regards
Atanu

Thank you Atanu da. I will post the back cover tonight once home. Please upload the back cover if you have it hands on.

Regards,
Sourav

Which of the above RDB Pujo specials have the following tracks?

1. Kaal kokhon ashbe bolo na
2. Swapno amar haariya achce
3. Phire esho anuradha
4. Bolo ki acche tomar ankhiye

I could be getting the phonetics wrong but they went something like these.

thanks

I have the SP of Phire Esho Anuradha. On the other side, we have Mone Pore Ruby Ray. Probably the first issue was on SP. The others too probably had SP release first. Need to check. Later, these songs (I am sure about bolo ki aachhe go) were released in a Music for Pleasure LP, whose cover Sourav has shared.

Hurry on sorting my collections I did find one Bengali Puja LP. Not a RDB one, if you guys can put some light on it will be good

Hi Sourav,
thanks for posting the complete list of RDB , AB puja albums. I have heard all of them except Bou katha Kou album. The recording is superb in all of them. Can you please post a picture if possible of the back cover of Bou Katha kou Album . I want to see the list of songs in that album. Apart from private bengali albums I have heard Troyee , Ekanta Apon and Anusandhan bengali movie Lps. Is there any other movie with decent songs composed by RDB?
Thanks.

Hi Mahiruha,

Here is the back cover of Bou Katha Kao

Ah, Sourav, you have khazana. I have given up hope of getting Padosan and Bhoot Bunglaa first pressing LPs. So am consoling myself with the EPs and reissue LPs.

Dear Atanu da,

The first pressing has become rare now. Even Odeon pressings are much more in demand than the Angel counter part. SPs are good too. I have 78 rpm shellacs which sounds better than LP if played through proper set up.

Regards,
Sourav

if possible, can you post a pic of the back cover of "Sweet Melodies of K.J. Jesudos"?

This was a very popular LP and is considered quite a collector's item.

Modern Malayalam Songs: Second Non Film LP of KJJ:

Can some old Bollywood music experts comment on this post from this thread.

Compare Indian recordings with say Beatles or Pink Floyd.
Same era.

Listen to the instruments, the clarity, the quality.
These will deteriorate only slightly when encoded into mp3.
However, it looks as if the bollywood music of earlier era simply misses the >10 kHz and <100 Hz spectrum altogether.
how should I describe it? It sounds "blurred".
