Vinyl I am listening to...

similar memories, as a small kid, dad used to take us to a cinema theatre called Sree Visakh in Trivandrum (as they used to show English movies). I remember the curtain rising for the matinee show. The music they used to play was a song with a catchy tune but the record was damaged and the arm used to get stuck and repeat lines till someone came and corrected it. Many years later I came to know that the song was Stayin Alive by the Bee Gees when I found it on my Saturday Night Fever LP.

similar experience when i had relocated breifly to my hometown in kerala, if i remember correctly, the theater was maneka, located on the marine drive in ernkulam. firstly, it's a massive single screen theater and it had amazing sound system. before the start of movie they played simple minds - she's a river in full glory...knocked me off my boots. theres something about movie theaters and music :)

today's spin -
metallica - and justice for all
slayer - south of heaven
arctic monkeys - suck it and see

True.
Not sure if it was Ajantha or New theater in Trivandrum , around 1978 they used to play Kraftwerk's The Man-Machine-"we are the robots" song during curtain raising and also sometime during slide advertisements. We used to feel very proud as we had the same LP @ home.

I have heard Kraftwerk's The Man Machine at New, back a long long time ago when dad took us there to see Mechana's Gold (in 70mm)

I'm not much of a Bollywood OST guy but since of late, have diversified my listening tastes to accomodate all kinds of music. Listening to Hindi music started after watching the 100 years of bollywood series on CNN IBN and The History Channel.

Listening to "dave clark five 25 thumping great hits"

The Dave Clark Five (also known as "The DC5") were an English pop rock group. Their single "Glad All Over" knocked the Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand" off the top of the UK singles charts in January 1964: it eventually peaked at number 6 in the United States in April 1964.

They were the second group of the British Invasion on The Ed Sullivan Show, appearing in March for two weeks after the Beatles appeared three straight weeks in February 1964. For some time the Dave Clark Five were more popular in the US than in their native UK, but had a renaissance in the UK between 1967 and 1970. The group disbanded in late 1970. On 10 March 2008, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
