Vinyl I am listening to...

sourav,

To my knowledge few 8 track tapes with bollywood songs were released in US during late 1980s.

Regards,
Anil

Thank you so much Anil. The reason I asked this question is as I was wondering whether to take a foray into world of spool tapes. If the OSTs are not available, it makes no sense to me to get into Spool. Thanks again.

took out my dad's old 45rpm record album and listened to the lot. These are his very first set of records which he purchased when he started out, it was like opening a book of memories from my childhood, don't think I remember Dad playing these since I was a toddler. Here goes, pictures of the entire album in the order of opening it, as it was kept by him. A load of Jim Reeves singles out there:

We all know this album. Do you see anything wrong? This is an Indian pressing.

I have the UK pressing of this album (1967-1970), the border is a blue one, like this:

The+Beatles+-+The+Beatles+%2F+1967-1970+-+LP+RECORD-421606.jpg

Have the UK pressing of this one as well, the border colour of this 1962-1966 album is actually red, like this:

The+Beatles+-+1962-1966%2F1967-1970+-+Sealed+-+4+LP+SET-458240.jpg

Reuben,
Thanks.
You have stimulated and opened the Pandora of my memories too. Opening those old EP albums brings back loads of past events having silver wings feathered with varied emotions.

I still remember , while browsing through the EP, dad getting angry when we wrongly touch and leave our finger marks on the playing area of the EPs... :)

The Balsara's Sound of Music EP was a favorite with us too.

Browsing though ABBA and BoneyM EPs were our favorite pass time as they had very nice cover pictures....

Few to highlight:

I have the Beatles /1967-1970 a Blue colored EMI Capitol Canada Pressing. It comes with inner sleeves having the songs printed and a FULL SIZE Blow up of the Fab-4.

Exactly that's why I posted the picture. There were 2 related double albums, namely the Red(1962-1966) and the Blue(1967-1970) album. But this Indian pressing is somehow confusing. It has got the name and songs of Blue album but colour of the RED Album. So was curious if anybody has some more info regarding this release.

Apart from the great songs, sound quality of Abdullah is simply superb. This Polydor LP has gatefold and single fold editions. Aye Khuda, voice on one channel and music on other, Bhiga Badan Jwalne Laga bass guitar on turntable. Manna Dey's Laalah Allah Tera Nigebhan, what a song. Aha what an experience.

This evening listening to one of the best composition of R.D Burman Sir with songs like Aye Khuda by Kishore Kumar Sir & Maine Pucha Chaand Se by Rafi Sir.

Abdullah
