Vinyl I am listening to...

Tomorrow morning is Mahalaya. The beginning of Durgapuja and Navratri. During 70s and 80s, Bengalis used to wait for the release of Puja numbers especially the releases from Asha Bhosle and R.D.Burman. Missed that era but remembering the time with this LP.

Reshmi Churi LP in stereo.

Anil, you must be a "great great" Floyd fan to complete listening both Ummagumma LP's in a single session!!!! :) . Thanks for the pics. UG album cover is really a highlight.

Now as you reminded, have to pull out the "Final Cut" LP after a long time.

Is the "Wall" lp a US pressing?

Bhaskar

Bhaskar,
Thanks.
Yes "The WALL "is a Columbia CBS NY pressing.
I listen to only my favorite tracks. I always skip those which test my patience.... esp with Pink Floyd and enigma :)

Anil

Manjil Virinja Pookal [Flowers That Bloomed in the Mist ]- A 45 RPM- LP. HMV.

The 1980 film made Mohanlal a star overnight. The Film which gave musical wonder called Jerry Amaldev. A film which had won separate awards for songs and BG score.

11 years later, the Hollywood thriller Sleeping with the Enemy (1991) had the almost same storyline as Manjil Virinja Pookkal. Sleeping with the Enemy was later remade into Hindi four times as Yaraana (1995), Daraar (1996), Agni Sakshi (1996), Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe (2002)

I remember listening to this record as a kid, the songs were so popular that one could hear these all over the place and yes, it was in a 45rpm 12 inch disk. I think it was 1980 or 1981. The Movie was carried by the music and not that great. It had Mohanlal playing a negative role.
