Now this one is a sleeper. Recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studio, this features some of the greatest contemporary session musicians such as Clem Cattini who Drummed for almost all of who's who since 1960, Cliff Hall on Piano ( sessions with Cliff Richard/Shadows/King's Singers/Leo Sayer). Les Hurdle, Bassist (sessions with The Wombles/Leo Sayer/Cher/Donna Summer/Art Garfunkle/Duane Eddy/Olivia Newton-John/Rick Wakman/Alan Parsons/Lou Reed etc) and several other prominent session musicians and backup vocalist. This is a gem of an LP.

Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma (91), the last ruling monarch of the Kingdom of Travancore passed away today early morning at 2.20am.

Paying a tribute to His Highness by playing the national anthem of His once kingdom.

Travancore National Anthem: (Malayalam; Columbia Gramophone Co, 1938)

Vanji Bhumi (alternatively Vanchi Bhumi, Vanchi Bhumi) was the national anthem of the Kingdom of Travancore. It was formally known as the "Vanchisamangalam" or the "Prayer for the Lord of Vanchi".
Vanchi Bhumi, meaning the "Land of Vanchi", is a reference to the city of Thiruvanchikkulam, the capital of the Later Cheras, and the "lord of Vanchi", the Later Chera's tutelary deity, Vanchi Nathan, a name for Hindu god Siva.
Written in Malayalam language, it was sung in honour of the Kingdom of Travancore and its ruler, until 1947, and the merger of Kingdom of Travancore with India.

Dear Anil up to which years vinyls released in malayalam?

Dear Selvin,

The last Long Play[LP] record of Malayalam film songs was released in 1987. It was a compilation from films: Chithram', Dinarathrangal', Manu Uncle', and Oru Muthassi Katha.'

I do not have any idea of which was the last non-filmy LP in Malayalam as Sangeetha and Tharangani[I think so] were releasing them even after 1987.

The first LP of Malayalam film songs was The Best Film Songs of K J Yesudas' (1968).
