Which 55" LED 3D Tv to buy .?

what's the best price you are getting for D6600..

Here are the best prices I got in Hyderabad,
130K LG 5700
140K Sony Ex720
154K Sam D6600

I had demoed 55D6600 before buying my 51 3D plasma.

The PQ is excellent and the 3D is very good with negligible crosstalk and very very bright picture. Also the design of the tv is awesome and it has built in wifi, smart tv and web browser.

Now it is available for 1.43 L on letsbuy.com and you are getting free 2 3d glasses, soundbar and 4 3D blurays. Go for it !!

Sony 55EX720 is available for around 1.22L in bangalore grey market but it is a risk .

55D6600 design is amazing. Dont worry whether it is monoloithic or not. It has a very elegant design. Also the 3D is very very good for an LED.

I'm getting D6600 for 1.42 lacs .
EX720 is 1.23 lacs and lw5700 is 1.30 lacs ....

Seems samsung is the cosliest of the three .
What makes it so .??

BTW which is the top selling brand for LCD/LED : Samsung or Sony .??

With a budget of yours you should focus on PQ,the USB playback part can always be substituted with a media player.

Okay , so what do you suggest .??

Isn't Samsung d6600 a good option .?

It is a good choice but i suggest you to audition them both the D6600 and EX720.
But if you can buy from the grey market get the NX720 its a edge-lit local dimming tv.

Regarding your previous question the D6600 comes with a glossy screen.

samsung 55d6600 is a great option unless you can buy sony 55hx925 which is 2.4L. Also Samsung plays all formats from usb including mkv. And PQ is great

I found the 55" Ex720 in my city but couldn't find the D6600 anywhere .

So cannot compare them .

But i want a gloss screen , so disliked the EX720 .

NX720 is amazing with the monolithic design but 55" is not available .

So am really confused as to which model to choose .

And i prefer mkv USB playing coz i do not intend to spend another 20k on a bluray player for mere usb playback .

I dont understand why Sony lags behind when supporting playback formats is concerned .

One reason is that they own the following division/companies

Motion pictures
Sony Pictures Entertainment Columbia Pictures Sony Pictures Classics Screen Gems TriStar Pictures Triumph Films Destination Films Stage 6 Films Affirm Films Sony Pictures Television Adelaide Productions Culver Entertainment Embassy Row The Minisode Network Sony Pictures Television International 2waytraffic Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Sony Wonder Sony Pictures Family Entertainment Group Sony Pictures Digital (Sony Pictures Imageworks Sony Pictures Animation) Syco TV Syco Film Sony Pictures Mobile Sony Pictures Studios Crackle Aniplex A-1 Pictures

Sony Music Entertainment Sony Music Publishing Columbia/Epic Label Group RCA/Jive Label Group Sony Music Nashville Sony Masterworks Legacy Recordings Syco Music Columbia Records UK RCA Label Group (UK) Provident Label Group RED Distribution Sony Music Japan Sony Music Latin Gracenote

So like other movie/music companies they face a lots of revenue loss due to piracy.

And afaik Lg and samsung or panasonic aren't into any music or movie business.

Maybe a reason but that sound stupid , especially in view of the fact that one cannot condemn piracy by restricting the playback on their TV's , when people can buy bluray players for playback or even switch to other brands like Samsung .

BTW have you seen both the Samsung D6600 & Sony Ex720 55" .??

How do you compare .? :indifferent14:

1. Do you not have a Bluray player ?????? Its your choice but IMO if you are willing pay so much for a high end HDTV and you are not gonna watch bluray movies on it then its almost pointless as you will never be exploiting the full visual potential of the set without a Bluray Player. And "rips" are good enough but not as good.

2. You can just buy a cheap media player for as low as 5k if you do not want to buy a bluray player. You could get a 1 TB media player for 5k.
