Yamaha AVR owners thread

Can someone help me by lending me YPAO mic for configuring my Yamaha Rx? I can have it collected from Delhi, Mumbai or Pune or Ahmedabad. Will return it the moment I am done. Shall be grateful.
Thanks

After a long wait, I purchased Dali Zensor -7 along with SVS PB 1000 sub. Connected to Yamaha -677 receiver. It really sounds very good. Burn-in process of speakers is under progress. Thanks for all the forum members who helped directly and indirectly in this process.

i live in Thane. next to Mumbai. i can lend you the mike.

How should i go about repairing my receiver? What should be the approx cost of main board replacement? Where should I go in Delhi to get this fixed?

Also, how can i prevent this in the future?

Take the receiver to an authorized Yamaha Service Center in your city. They should be able to inspect and give you an quote depending on the part that needs repair/replacement.

To prevent in future, the safest thumb rule is to unplug devices from the power socket during heavy lightning/thunderstorms.

Hi,

The RX V581 seems to be the talk of the town and besides the regular features seen in other 7.1/2 avrs, it seems that Zone B (formerly Zone 2) can accept digital inputs or sources and output the same as Stereo.

Has anyone heard or tested or tried this? As far as I am aware, regular features such as All Zone stereo works, you can use another source (analog) and FM in Zone 2.

Has Yamaha achieved this?

Hi, I am planning to upgrade my existing rx-v667 with the Yamaha Aventage rx-a860 or the Rx-a 2050. Anyone owning these receivers. Is the upgrade in features of the rx-860 be better than its 50 series as the rate of the 2050 has dropped and considering the 2050 over the 860 for its power.

Hi

We have a lot of Yamaha AVR owners, has no one experienced or tested the Zone B or Zone 2 feature?

Zone 2 works as a stereo receiver independently. Both the zones can function simultaneously. While zone 1 has lots of sound settings, zone 2 is a no frill stereo, however, the quality of sound is as good as zone one in pure direct mode.
Hope I was able to answer your question.

Hi,

Yes you have. The question is can Zone 2 have digital inputs as source? Also can both zones output different digital inputs at the same time? I know that FM and Bluetooth feature working for zone 2 when u play Blu Ray thru HDMI on zone one.....

Hi,
My 8 yearold RX-V661 receiver is gone dead, took it to the Service centre, they said the DSP board is not working (part no. WJ697600) approx cost is Rs 12K, any idea if any good repair places in Mumbai could check at the component level and try to repair the board?
Thanks!

Ya I did, any reviews about their services?
They believe in replacing the board rather than checking for failed components.

I have an older model. Aventage A-810. I'm satisfied with its performance so far.

Guess I will focus on the RX-A860 as the price difference is quite a lot. Besides the new amps go down to 15.6hz as compared to previous models that do 31.3hz on the subwoofer EQ.

Wise decision IMHO.

Good to know that. So I guess you might need an expensive sub to test the AVR's LF potential then.
